Yeah, its changed on the debate, but whether its temporary or not we'll have to see. It's definitely an improvement:-

Yep - I wondered if the yellow dog would be contentious - but then the entire ITV News set is yellow, and the BBC News set is now red, and was blue through much of the 90s.

Don't care why it has changed - just hope it stays as it is now. The old opaque black and yellow dog was ghastly - and meant I seldom even bothered to see if ITV1 had any HD stuff...

The BBC listened and removed their BBC HD dog during drama, and have turned it down to almost nothing on the other stuff.

I thought the dog was only on during full hd programmes ( i thoughtit was put on here last week) - I thought the debated was just upscaled, so therefore wouln't have the dog at all ! and there just putting it on tonight as quite a few people will actaully watch.

The election debate programme is in full HD (and they even showed the full HD lanterns ident into it!). As the Sky and BBC ones are going to be shot in HD, it would have probably been quite a dent on ITV's pride had they not managed it too!

Not sure if this is new but the ITV HD logo has lost its colour and looks like the BBC HD logo

For the leaders debate or before that? Maybe a yellow logo would have been seen as pro lib dem.

Yes that is probably the reason, you could see the newspaper headlines tomorrow with the screen shots Exclamation

According to this thread on DS, the DOG changed to grey last night:

The DOG looks better now it's not yellow.

It looks very similart to the way the ITV2/3/4 DOGs used to be - a shame they don't go back to grey too.

They were an E4 style white-grey rather than this More4 style watermark so the dogs on all the other ITVs have always been quite distracting.

It changed before the debate during a late night film.

True to their word, I received a follow-up email yesterday which would appear to show that they listen:

Dear Mr Wood
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the ITV1 HD DOG.
From now on, only native HD programmes will carry a DOG on the ITV1 HD channel. The DOG has been changed to a grey colour with reduced luminance.
Once again, thank you for your feedback which is welcome at ITV.

That's making me wonder why BGT, which claims to be in HD this series, is DOGless.
