Given that it's one of the titles announced for the idents, yes, I'd agree that it's bound to be that. However, as there is no motion in the bumper apart from the angle of the sparks changing - no sign of an actual dodgem, not even its pick-up - it's not cut and dried yet. I'm interested in how it will tie in with full ident. As it stands, it looks more like the work of an angle-grinder.
As of today, the DOG will only appear during genuine HD programmes.
well that won't be too often then! no seriously that's good on their part for doing that - the least it's on the better ( whatever channel it is)
and this should hopefully satisfy the people who were saying that having it on all the time was a bit misleading on upscaled programmes. Whilst their still going to advertise all progammes as being "on ITV1 and ITV1 HD" at least your be able to tell whether it is full hd.

Well, which stupid prat thought that was going to be a 'good idea' TM ?
You've now got this utterly ludicrous situation whereby you have a wonderful film pock-marked with an ugly, obtrusive yellow DOG, yet the pap that is Piers Morgan gets broadcast untouched.
For f's sake, ITV, follow the BBC's example and get rid of the DOG on your top programmes, rather than alienate viewers even further.
It appears that in the Channel Islands, we can't get ITV HD on the Sky EPG or on Freesat. Channel 178 currently just says unavailable.
Isn't ITV1 HD limited to ITV plc regions? Channel, UTV and STV are non-ITV plc - so don't get it in their regions?
Presumably because ITV plc aren't sharing ad revenue with the non-ITV plc franchises? However there is the Meridian/Channel tie-up isn't there still - so possibly Channel can be an exception?

I can't find it now, but I'm sure I read on the Freesat site that ITV HD is available in England, Wales, and the Channel Islands.
Is it not even behind the red button on UTV/STV? I think it still is here.

I stuck a Jersey postcode into my Freesat box about three weeks ago, and the ITV HD Red Button link did indeed appear and work from Channel TV on Ch 103. However refer back in this thread to Post 140 and a Channel Islander reports though that still works, there is no Ch 119 option available.
