I wouldn't be surprised if the original 6 have been quietly dropped. I can't see them going to the effort of ensuring the ITV1 HD logo disappears behind the objects like the ITV1 logo does.

They'll have either plonked the new logo over the top, which will look dreadful (think Wales), or not have bothered.


I think we need to see the Bubbles ident to see how they have done the logos, as that one disappears behind some bubbles, and is the only one of the bigger logo idents where that happens, with the small logo idents, it happened in most of them.

Its good they are saying 'ITV1 & ITV1HD' on promos, but you would think they would also show the ITV1 HD logo.
Mind you, they haven't brought about the new style, so if they ever decide to use that new look they might do it then.

Well I stand corrected, the Pavement Art ident has just played, and it had the big new logo and it appeared correct.

It looked so wrong though! Guess its just because I'm used to seeing the small logo.

Now I can't wait to see Bubbles, Beach and Market idents as they are the idents where the logo has most involvement in the scene (if you know what I mean, how it hides behind things and reappears etc)

Ooh one good thing about ITV1HD is the end credits are not interrupted by the continuity announcer. I thought when it became a full channel this would stop, but during both Jeremy Kyle and 60MM credits, they played without Mark speaking over them.

Lake/Boat has just played and that looked good and the new logo appeared like it should.

ITV1HD has now just become ITV1! The ITV1 DOG has gone, ECP was back and the break bumper was the standard ITV1 version!

I think someone's forgot to press the switch after showing the London regional news. Dickinson's Real Deal started without HD presentation, but after nine minutes, the screen blanked briefly and returned with the ITV1 HD dog. A tiny stutter going into the sponsorship at the start of the first break and HD presentation disappeared again.

I don't know why they bothered launching it... I've just been through the egp and there is barely any hd content.

Did they not have to launch a HD channel to retain the Freeview slot... would they have lost it like Channel 5 have done if they had not launched a HD channel?

Well the content that isn't broadcast in native HD is upscaled. There is a noticeable improvement in picture quality on Virgin Media.
