why aren't Scotland getting STV +1 on Sky? its on freeview...

Confused

According to their website, it's only available on Freeview and Virgin (although it's available on Sky through "add channels" in England)

UTV have basically the same message on their website, saying that UTV+1 is available on Freeview and Virgin but not yet available on Sky. Anyone know what the delay is in bringing UTV+1 and STV+1 to Sky?

Was the sound on normal ITV1 ok for the News at Ten promo at 9:45?
Only ask because on ITV1+1 at 10:45 the promo had no sound, ad's before and sponsorship bumper after the promo did.

Yes, I appreciate that, but as the DTT Westcountry transmitters are fed vis DSat, it would have been odd if they were showing a different region to that available to those watching a DSat signal via Sky or Freesat.

Are they fed by DSAT though? I know there was some satellite goings on around the time that Westcountry closed and analogue switch off but I'd have thought they'd have long been replaced by normal line feeds by now

All Six muxes are Fibre now to main DSO'd transmitters I believe.

I would love to see this carry on UPC.

No they're not, only Mux A, but that's now fibre fed at all sites too

I think you're getting confused with the temporary feed arrangements for the Westcountry ITV analogue transmitters, that were fed from Astra 2D between the Plympton studio centre closing in Feb 2009, and DSO in that region in Sept 2009

Confused

On Freeview they get some say in how the ITV mux is run and of course it's regionalised (both had variations of ITV2 in the early days). On Sky though STV would have to cough up for the bandwidth and the EPG slot.

Er? So Digital UK spend all this money telling viewers in the west of England how to avoid the "Welsh problem" (as they so delicately put it) during the digital switchover... only for ITV 1 to give ITV west viewers a Welsh version of ITV1+1. The only +1 channel to give you programmes you didn't get an hour before!

+1 isn't working for me. I switched to ITV1 and just caught the end of This Morning. I switched to ITV1+1 expecting to see the start of This Morning (as depicted on the promos for ITV1+1) but it was already part way through it. What a rip off!
