One episode of emmerdale always gets the "regional ident" treatment, I think it's Tuesday because they mention the local programme which follows......which oddly enough never gets the similar treatment Shocked

There are no regional tags in the what was used to be Carlton/LWT land. But I'm glad that I don't see London because I find it controversal and I live in a borough that's more Kent than London.

They're not even regional idents, the region name is superimposed live over the national feed.

Not true, this only happens for Wales - there are seperate versions of all the rest.

maybe its because "wales" needs to be overlaid onto every junction - where as "central", "anglia" etc only need to be used a couple of times a week?

I think ITV Wales only gets it because it's a nation, whereas the other regions are just regions as far as ITV plc goes. I'd love it even if it's only a superimposement that the regional name is added.

I wonder how much longer we will get the word Wales on our idents though. They are slowly getting rid of regionality here, they replaced our announcers with the network ones back in January.

Yep. Given that now 9 times out of 10 the announcements are the same as network, it's easier to just put the word "Wales" on top of the network feed. However that does mean Wales can have a version of any ident, whereas all the regions are stuck with Pride and probably won't get any others.

(not that I particularly like the result of the Wales overlay though - on the examples I've seen it looks a bit dodgy)

and who exactly add the wales bit to the bottom of the ident, HTV in Cardiff, it really looks bad and unprofessional.

I did, however, notice an ITV1 Yorkshire ident introduce Emmerdale at 7pm last week - why was this? The programme was broadcast nationally; did other regions get their own ident?

An ITV1 Anglia ident was used before Emmerdale here too, along with a local announcement. I don't see why however.

HTV in Cardiff dont add the Wales bit as presentation comes from London.

I watched the announcement before a regional programme and noticed the word Wales disappeared before the end of the ident so we dont even get a proper ident before regional programmes!
