itv1 xmas idents

So it's generic ? So what ? Doesn't mean Granada didn't make it does it.

Anyways, I think the presentation on ITV1 looks good, nice to see the ident matching the trailers.

If it was Granada-designed, it would be by Balistix, and it just doesn't look like a Balistix ident!

But how do you know that ? Maybe it is an in-house ident.

Balistix is the name of Granada's inhouse design unit.

Maybe Granada got the design agency, what it's called now English and Pockett is ithttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif to make a special ident for them, but why did they forgot to put the itv.com address and the subtitling info?

The fact is I don't know, and you don't know who designed it, we can all speculate about it all day, the fact remains, none of us here knows.

Right, lets explain. The Chritmas itv1 ident which is currently being shown on all GMG stations was designed at Leeds, as were the Christmas trailers which are being shown on most stations, Carlton included. They were not designed by Carlton or ITV Network Centre as some of you might think.

Also, it's been mentioned that people do not like this generic look, well I'm afraid the new itv1 idents which are scheduled to start on January 7th are also generic and do not contain a regional name or logo. They are blue, yellow and white and are actually quite boring. I would upload a copy, but I don't actually have copies - I've just seen them at Leeds. What bothers me is the fact that they plan to restart using the hearts idents the day after new years day, just until Sunday 6th January, before these new idents take their place!

Expect to see Anglia and Meridian gobbled up by Leeds in February.

Oh dear, so we are going to see generic idents, what a shame, I was hoping those purple endcaps would be made into nice regional ITV idents, and you say the idents are boring do you, oh dear better stick to CARLTON then!

I should have also mentioned that the new generic itv1 idents have also been designed at Leeds, and Carlton will not be using them. LWT also did not agree to using them, however Granada has told LWT that they will use them whether they like it or not.

The new idents have the GR/N/DA logo at the bottom, beside the [itv.com] symbol. Haven't heard the music for these yet, but it was suggested that they will simply be using the hearts music for now.

Will local idents be used before regional progs on YTV or TTTV like before?

I'm not supposed to be telling people where I work for obvious reasons, so I won't. And yes, regional idents have been designed which are in the purple endcap style. These will be used before regional news and programmes.
