Carlton Central are just using slightly altered version sof the idents used in 1999 and 2000 of the heart with no ice skating thing except in the network programme promotions.

The Granada idents are different to this although the trailers use that version.
The ITV1 logo is in the centre of the screen with the eskimo floating about and stars skating around the itv1 logo.

It looks very nice, but I'm going to have to hate it.
This sort of thing - i.e. no regional branding - would've been unthinkable in past Christmas idents. This is shameful on EVERY GMG region's part.
I am NOT watching ITV1, the channel I tune my TV into is called Granada, not ITV1.

Bearing in mind, we wern't expecting a GMG Xmas ident this year, I'm sure we can let go of our regions names for just a couple of days

Yes, I would have preferred none like last year. It's not as if GMG have made any effort, I bet they've just nicked ITV Night-Time's idents....
In fact, I'm beginning to think this was a last-minute afterthought; a source at a GMG station said only on Tuesday that there were no GMG Xmas idents. If they're not good enough for LWT why are they good enough for the other regions?
No, if you think I'm watching some generic ITV1 all Christmas you've got another thing coming Granada. I'll watch SMG over this!! (they haven't bothered yet....)
