Have to say it will be a shame if they are going. The female announcer, Sue, has been there over 20 years, as far back as when HTV Wales had in vision announcements. Crying or Very sad

bit by bit everything that was great about ITV has been eroded away, thanks Mr Allen! Evil or Very Mad

Maybe this could be the right time for ITV Wales to relocate from their aging and scruffy premises on the outskirts of Cardiff. Most of the building is already being used by other media companies such as Sounds In Motion, so maybe ITV Wales would be better off relocating it's news and programme production (what's left of it) to new premises in Cardiff Bay or the city centre.

Well I think that's been confirmed then, on air, for those who were doubting the authenticity of the information.

Oh how very sad, a goodbye anno from Sue poo then.

"Well it's goodbye from continuity in Wales now -- so for the last time from Cardiff, the South Bank Show.."

I've not been this upset since they changed Monster Munch Sad

That was very sad Crying or Very sad

I wonder what will happen in Wales now before regional programmes - will they bother having the word Wales on the idents? I guess we will find out at 8pm tommorow before Wales This Week.

I doubt it. What a shame for Sue after being there for so long. Totally unneeded.

Well now I rather fancy that ITV1 Wales will live on in the idents [your man at the start just said announcers were going] -- one thing at a time perhaps.

Surely the English regions will have a local ident before their programming too -- the new symbol doesn't look that unadaptable to it.

Emma Jesson was wearing a lovely top for the HTV weather, but I'm afraid not even that can dispel tonight's sadness.

A very sad day indeed.

Sue has said goodbye almost exactly 48 years to the day that the first Independent Television continuity announcer said hello from Cardiff.

TWW Channel 10 went on air from the St Hilary transmitter to South Wales and the West of England on 14 January 1958!

I'm expecting them to ditch regional idents.

And what a smack in the face for her years of service. My thoughts are in Wales today.
