It was an ITV PR puff for newspapers. It also appeared similarly in The Times and the Daily Mirror amongst other places. I'm sure it is ITV getting their retaliation in early for what is bound to be the BBC press releases after Christmas, when they get high ratings.

What stats reveal is interesting. What they conceal is vital.

Interesting that despite averaging more than The X Factor, The X Factor enjoyed a higher peak of 12.6 million viewers last week.

The X Factor peak was an 'absolute' peak of less than 5 minutes, the peak for SCD was a typical 15 minute window. The 15 minute window peak of X Factor was 11.9 million. Will be interesting to see what SCD's 'absolute' peak was.

Thanks.

Im surprised it was a low as that for a peak time show. And by the looks of it they are making more of it as they gave a number out for interested people for future shows. Maybe it is losing popularity?

It was opposite the Strictly Final! I think that explains it

Why is this being discussed in this thread anyway

I provided the SCD ratings as it was thought it would find a place in the end of year Top 10 most watched programmes, which indeed it has.

Maybe something to do with the lack of Celebrity in this particular programme. Stars In Their Eyes worked much better without the Celebrity element. And Cat Deeley really is a bland host. Bring back Matthew Kelly!
