Anyone know why ITV1 have changed their schedule today and are now showing a film instead of American Idol?

ITV1 Wales are following the networks schedule this week up until 5.30pm when we have our 2 regional programmes then and opting out .


It appears that American Idol will only be shown on ITV2 now.


Very strange that they have shown it for all these weeks and now its only on ITV2. Is there a reason why they are doing this and why they have changed the schedule at the last minute.

Afternoon would be flexible enough to accomodate The Formula One depending upon which time it started at.

Also note Tonight with Trevor MacDonald re-named and moved to Sunday afternoons as Weekend World. World In Action would return in the Monday NIght Slot whilst various other CUrrent Affair series would be shown on a Friday.

The Championship I would move to Monday Nights, after the late news - to make sure that ll matches were covered in the show.

Yes there is a reason...all a bit complicated though! Should be back on 1 all things going right.

Then we have over 2 hours of American Idol (yawn) followed by 2 repeats. Rolling Eyes Unless you live in Wales, NI or Scotland there are no regional programmes anymore.

American Idol is no longer on ITV1/Scottish/Grampian/UTV due to poor ratings.

It appears regional programmes are making a return to ITV1 on a Sunday afternoon/evening but only for 1 slot.

London/Central - The Way We Were
West/Westcountry - How the West was made
Wales - Grass Roots
Granada/Yorkshire/Tyne Tees - Twisted Tales
Border - Fun at the Fair

Interesting that some regions are doing co productions.

Wales are also opting out from 3.25pm with the following;

3.25pm Animals do the funniest things
4.25pm Fishlocks Wild Tracks (Rpt)
4.50pm Simply Gardening (Rpt)
5.00pm Soccer Sunday
5.30pm Family Fashion
6.00pm Grass Roots

Rest of the network are showing a film from 3.25pm until the regional slot at 6pm.

Grass Roots? with QVC gardener Richard Jackson? Confused We used to have that in the Meridian region about 10 years ago.

ITV Wales has its own version which has been on for well over a decade on HTV Wales. I never watch it though!
