ITV1 Sunday Schedule

I think the new Sunday lineup on ITV1 in the day is brilliant. I am always watching it now, such as the Championship, American Idol. The news is better in an earlier slot, plus WRC. Just the 8 - 12 slot at night they need to change.

I'd like the schedule to go something like this:

0925 The Championship
1025 American Idol
1300 ITV News
1310 Regional News/Weather
1320 Jonathan Dimbleby
1420 Britains Best Back Gardens
1520 Surface (now on Sundays)
1610 Rally
1710 The Golden Lot
1735 You've Been Framed
1800 ITV Evening News/Weather (inc.10min Sport round-up)
1830 Regional News/Weather
1845 Creature Comforts
1900 (normal scheduling)

Id like them to make more of an effort on a sundays in smgland...ie entertainment not god/gaelic/bad current affairs shows

The sunday ITV Weekend News is the highest rating bulletin of the week. Shunting it to 6pm would damage this.

It should be noted it often bursts out of it's 20 mins slot anyway, with Emmerdale starting late and occasionally running with no adverts.

Even more reasons why they should get rid of the Sunday Emmerdale as it sells so little advertising space and get the worst ratings of the entire week!

I remember when SMG had good weekend daytime shows....

it had hour long kids show, some entertement show, drama like "thurder in pardise or team night rider etc...
there was a at least a good daytime. it wasn't bad but it wasn't good but you could wacth it!

also 2hours of reginal programmes a week go to gaelic show on a tuesday night 11pm - 1am!

Wasn't impressed on Saturday either.. What the hell is that Barbara thing about??!

The problem is that the staples of weekend TV have been removed in regional, religious and childrens programming - and even films to an extent.

I've said this elsewhere, but I think there is room in the ITV1 schedule for fixed 30-minute weekend news bulletins at 12.30pm and 5.30pm. I'd also like to see regional programming moved to a flagship Sunday night slot of 6pm, airing in a one-hour block.

I quite enjoy the repeats of Barbara! It's great Sunday afternoon fodder! Just like the BBC showing Keeping Up Appearances every Sunday!

Barbara is shown on Saturday so what are you talking about?
