What has happened to ITV1's Sunday schedule recently? Its been pretty rubbish for a while now but over the last few weeks its got even worse.

They have Jonathan Dimbleby at 10.25am which includes the lunchtime ITV News, and is followed by the regional news, which is too early. It was much better suited to a 12.30pm/1.00pm type of slot.

Then we have over 2 hours of American Idol (yawn) followed by 2 repeats. Rolling Eyes Unless you live in Wales, NI or Scotland there are no regional programmes anymore.

Even peak time on a Sunday is no different from a normal weeknight with soaps and dramas.

Well i'm glad they're showing American Idol because i've never seen it before!

Sunday daytime is utter rubbish. And to think they were allowed to reduce the religious content for this.

I have to say though, I'd rather watch American Idol than some bloke banging on about God.

Wouldnt be so bad if American Idol was on for a hour, but two and a half hours?

Couldnt they show that at 9.25am and have The Championship and Jonathan Dimbleby later?

The Saturday afternoon schedule is just as bad at the moment, with repeats of Morse, Barbara & Poirot.

They may as well just call it ITV3 on ITV1.

Well the regional programmes aren't as brilliant as made out.
Scotsport First - Jim Delahunt and a bunch of sports "pundits" talking about first division football - which is interesting, just not with these people hosting it.
Sunday Live - Replacement for Seven Days - ie the show made to give steven jardine work......it has no line of thought nor any real focus or intention.

it is an asset to still have regional programmes on a sunday - but please SMG do it right!!

Its as if ITV cant be bothered with daytime programmes at the weekend, apart from Saturday morning when they show children's programmes.

Well here in Wales we have recently got Soccer Sunday back in a 3.25pm slot, and we usually get a half hour documentary regional programme at around 6pm. Waterfront however has moved from its traditional Sunday lunchtime slot to Thursday nights.

Sundays were always known for being a bit of a bore on both the BBC and ITV, I think this new schedule is quite pathetic, but you can tell it's been on the cards for ages, since ITV were allowed to reduce the amount of Religious programming and Politics.

Fair enough for Jonathan Dimbleby being moved to an earlier slot, at least then it would be allowed in someway to compete with Sunday AM, but I think moving the ITV News and Regional News this early on Sunday is a joke, I didn't see what was wrong with 1.00pm.

Plus I thought they were replacing JD with a programme called Meet The Reporters ?
