The thing you need to remember is that the Sky box will only accept symbol rates of 22000 or 27500, so you can get TV3 Prague for example, but not KTV (German). Fox News is on 11508H, 27500, FEC 2/3.
When will we be able to actually see each region - at the mo its just that test card.
And not even that anymore for the two transponders that were available yesterday. They disappeared shortly before 1pm. I half expected something to then happen but it hasn't. Oh well, vision could turn up anytime in the next few weeks I guess Time to play the waiting game...

I got back from college at about 1.50-2.00 this afternoon, and found that ALL transponders were active, yesterday I only managed to save the channels from 2 of the transponders, but now I got the Carlton one as well. The William Road testcard has gone, but EPG data is still avalible on some channels.
Not being a Sky Digital subscriber but relaying to a friend over the phone, this has its difficulties!
Does anyone know if the storing of these channels will affect the 'real' broadcasts form the 27th? (my friend won't press yellow!)

No, these channels will just be stored sepeartly, and when ITV offically launches later this month on Sky Digital, Sky / ITV will automatically add the region your in to channel 103, and possibly the rest of the regions will go in the 800s. Storing these channels in the Other Channels section won't mess anything up.
Hmmm, I'm now getting some spurious info from the box, telling me that the channels are UK Drama, Sci-Fi etc. I think they are testing the encryption at the moment... Hopefully this won't mean that the channels are locked until the 27th

These are bugs with the box, it has done it before with other channels that have been set to a testing mode, it happened with me when I was looking at the ITN News Channel testing before its launch.

Yes they are testing the encryption at the moment. I actually think that itv and Sky have done a deal to go the whole hog and fully encrypt everything. It means you will only be able to receive your own regions itv1 I'm at work everyday so I can't see what's going on, but I think if we don't see any pictures within the next few days, then maybe we should start to assume that full encryption is the way they are going.
I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I'm just telling people not to build their hopes up. It's not looking too good, but then again I could be wrong!
*But*, the pictures themselves are not actually encrypted!!! When I programmed the frequencies into my motorised FTA/CAM digital receiver I was able to get the testcard again on Granada channels (not the others). However they do not appear on the Sky box!!! The lock symbol is displayed on the CAM receiver signifying that there is lockout encryption taking place but the pictures themselves are FTA.
I did see Asa mentioning that soft-encryption was going to be implemented. This would mean you can receive all the channels. I don't see why ITV would want to lock out the other channels, but we'll see.
Time to play the waiting game...
