Does STV have control over what it shows?
I through there could only opt for 20 hours a week,

For local programmes and news, But can STV show what ever there like!?
When ever there like so there don’t have to show ITV1 crap programmes?

There could buy in some better ones?

Or are ITV1 lost the plot?

I decided to phone up STV just the now, to enquire what ITV said, and there where very interested! I told the name of the forum so I gather there will be popping in on us some time soon to look at the post,

Although the said there apart for the network programming there have control over some local TV show although there have no idea about other times: daytime, weekends, I also said I think STV did a much better job when there had control over it!

Am I alone in thinking that to write, "you are all a joke" to employees of the Duty Office is nothing less than sheer bloody rudeness?

Agreed. The reason they don't reply to all e-mails is because, as others have said, they have enough on their hands to deal with. I'm surprised they even replied to such a rude one.

Just to let you all know, I've sent an apology to the ITV Duty Office.

It was far better when each region had its own duty office. The duty officer at HTV Wales for example was very helpful, but the ITV ones arent as helpful really.

What's the point in complaining to ITV? They're a commerical company - so convince them their commercial decisions are wrong.

It's quite simple. If you don't like something, don't watch it. Falling ratings = falling ad revenue = ITV plc's current crisis. Viewers aren't powerless you know... mind you if the current weather continues, any physically fit person who wants to sit indoors and watch bog standard telly in the morning or mid-afternoon is to be pitied. Wink

And the earlier poster is quite right. It's simply wrong to send a rude or cheeky e-mail to the duty office. They're just normal people doing their jobs and don't deserve grief. A polite, well argued letter or e-mail is always more effective.

I agree, I once emailed Anglia, I must say they were very kind and helpful and got to the point, it also helps to remember if a person has a complaint that the person working in the office isn't really at fault, so it helps to be kind rather then rude otherwise they'll probably get put off answering it.

The fact that I have a broken leg doesn't exactly help much.

Hope it heals soon. It was the right thing to do to apologise for the tone of your email, and I have renewed faith in humanity that you did.

(Not that I want to overstate it!)

Emailling Duty Office is a complete waste of time if you want to complain about programmes.

Thanks Gavin. I realised my mistake after all of you pointed it out to me. Very Happy

The Duty Office at Central love complaints.

I know they sit and have a good laugh at most of them, before finding "interesting" names for the people who complain.

As someone said, its not the "good old days" when the duty offices or public relations departments cared. The TTTV one was very helpful.

Edit: Forgot to say, when something is "forwarded" that usually means put in the bin.
