Which ITV Regions, promo their regional programmes as being '...On ITV1'.
Thats something the GMG North regions don't do, so there is some regionality left there!
EDIT: Cockup on UTV after the Late ITV News, The GMTV trailer was let through, (UTV usually don't show the GMTV trailer), UTV then cut to black half way through it!

Some HTV Wales trailers have the normal ITV1 trailers for local progs like Wales This Week - no mention of HTV at all.
Carlton/LWT have referred in trailers to 'ITV' (or ITV1) since about 1998ish - probably because of the two franchises. Up until then, it used to be Thames, Carlton or LWT.
yes someone in the graphics department went to great lengths to cover up any existance of the itv logo on any netwrok promotions - inlcuding all the ones for itv year of promise - which in wales had mysteriously become the htv year of promise! as whataday says above the coronation street ones were blitzed with htv, even the itv movie premiere were covered up with htv movie premiere!
htv have gone from one extreme to another where a year a go each announcer only mentioned htv, the logo on all promotions was htv (rarely an itv logo was seen unless it was coming direct from network) and htv felt like a local broadcasting company.
BUT these days since the introduction of ITV1 and itv.com branding you only see the word HTV on an ident before programmes and on the break bumper - so that could equate to less than 15 seconds an hour now of the HTV brand going out on the channel.
SO we need to ask ourselves the question is it really worth all the effort and granada and carlton going bust just so we can get a little bit of local branding which probably costs millions of pounds to implement per year just to please a few people as the majority of people dont notice things like this?
I think the Carlton companies are the only ones branding regional trailers as ITV1. Oh, and LWT of course. Granada's other channels all have local trailers with local branding, of course SMG and UTV do also as they don't take the ITV trailers and I'm pretty sure Channel does as well (have local-branded trailers), the few of them it has.
As for the UTV GMTV cockup, it has to be said in their defence that ITV don't bother to tell UTV when the trailer is due to come on, and so it's inevitable that mistakes will be made. Channel have the same problem. So that's another one we can blame on London...

ITV London, LWT & Carlton were the first ppl to brand all their programmes as on 'ITV', others then followed. It was so much better in the old days. LWT's Idents & Meridians were good before!

Yeah, like I say, like everything else in ITV London start a practice in order to stop branding clashes between Carlton and LWT and as a result the rest of the country have to suffer bland, generic presentation.
Having 2 ITV stations in London was the worst thing that could ever have happened to ITV regionality. Without them I don't think the situation would be half as bad.
At least the Granada stations have resisted the temptation. For now.

Channel always promote local programming (all comes from Meridian !) as : Thursday at 7.30 on Channel Television. They never use on ITV or ITV1.

all carlton companies use the itv.com web address now on ALL promotions and news bulletins ie:-
SMG trailers are a pile of pish! The station name is in the corner but the VO never mentions the name, not even for regional programmes. Personally I'd much rather have the VO saying 'Tuesday at 9 on ITV1' than just 'Tuesday at 9'
What I'd really like is 'Tuesday at 9, on Scottish'
