The "ITV1 Regional Slots" Thread

Well next week there's 2.5 hours of regional programming in England, a bit on the below average side compared with 2003.

The week after regional shows are taking both the Thursday and Tuesday at 7.30 slots, this (along with an extra slot on Sunday that there isn't this week due to still being in Xmas mode) brings the total to 3.5 hours which is the same sort of figure as 2003.

Have Leeds ran out of idents to show or something? Everytime there has been a regional programme this week all we have had is the standard generic or the Christmas generic ident. Even before Crimefighters we had a generic ident with a boring announcement.

Does ITV1 Granada still exsist to them? Or are they starting to phase it out.

If it keeps going the same way, I think the Carlton regions have a better ident and promotion of the region than the Granada regions.

But there used to be a regional slot on a Sunday at about 5.45 or 6pm as well as the 2 earlier in the afternoon. HTV use the other 2 on a Sunday for Waterfront (political program) and Soccer Sunday (like most regions) - tommorow however there is one slot as you said, and are showing a repeat of Coast to Coast I think, as Waterfront isnt back from its Christmas Break until the following week.

It is good that we have 2 regional slots in peak time - Tues/Thurs at 7.30pm.

This coming week we have;

1/2 hr on Sunday from 11.55am
1/2 hr on Thursday from 7.30pm
1 hr on Thursday from 11.30pm
1/2 hr on Friday from 11pm

Then the following week

1 hr on Sunday between 11.30am-12.30pm
1/2 hr on Tuesday at 7.30pm
1/2 hr on Thursday at 7.30pm
1 hr on Thursday between 11.30pm-12.30am
1/2 hr on Friday at 11pm

HTV Wales dont seem to be using any opt outs at the moment, sometimes they use up to 3 at once.
