Yes and the Jo Blythe one is on Monday 15th December, so make a note in your diaries!.

Meanwhile on Tyne Tees, they seem obsessed with Dr Jane. Whilst YTV had a series lasting about 10 weeks. Tyne Tees dedicated the Thursday at 2.30pm slot during the first half of the year to Call Dr Jane for the full 25ish weeks. Then when this slot ended they filled a late night slot with "Call Dr Jane: Late Night Special". Now from next week its "Call Dr Jane at Christmas". I'm sure they must now have filled the quota of heath programming for the next 5 years!. Maybe Dr Jane is still contracted from her Wellbeing days and they need to find her something to do!.

Also a new series started tonight across GMG North called "That's Entertainment". Its a regional variety show and its on for the next three weeks

It's a Yorkshire Tyne Tees Granada Co-Production with an interesting combined endcap, and one of the producers was Eamonn O'Neil. Unusually I notice from the credits outside broadcast facilities were provided by Carlton 021.

On Yorkshire this week's show is the Yorkshire show, then they are showing the Tyne Tees one next week and the Granada one the week after

On Granada this week's show is the Granada one, then its the Yorkshire one, then the Tyne Tees one.

On Tyne Tees, well you get the idea

It sounds a bit like "5 go mad in...[A northern City]" For example, 5 Geordie lasses and 5 Leeds lads visit Manchester. Although I think they're made by only one region (I belive it's Tyne Tees).

Call Dr. Jane is very good by the way, although the only one of the late shows I saw was showing a selection of sex toys Shocked Laughing .

From what I saw from the trailer, Thats Entertainment looked absoloutley awful, really it shouldn't be going out at 11.30pm, as it is the stuff which you would see at a working man's club (ie Phoenix Club) as the Granada version had people like Cannon and Ball and that guy who had that massive ostrich (The one which David Brent had in the Comic Relief episode) and it did look awful. It is something you would not watch on a Friday night on ITV.

Does anyone know if they're bringing back Crimefighters Alpha 3? As that was a really good show for a Friday night and it was really interesting. Plus it's one of these shows which have seperate versions made for Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and Border.

Well that style of variety entertainment with the likes of Norman Collier doing his chicken impersontation and old style comedians like Cannon & Ball is what many old people complain that is lacking from today's TV.
I guess it has it's audience, but whether that is at 11.30pm on a Friday night remains to be seen.

The Yorkshire version also had Bernie Clifton on the ostrich, looks like we have more of him to look forward to when YTV show the Granada version.

Does anyone know what regional slots there will be for 2004 yet? Are there any scheduled for Friday 2nd January?

I cant find any information about local progs for 2004 on my local regions website yet.

Look in the other thread in which you asked about the Sunday slots over Christmas and you'll find the answer to that question.

5 go mad is not bad for a Thursday night. I wonder why they did not let Border so to speak 'Take part'? Well I'm surprised Border arn't showing it anyway, as they mostly take Granada TV's regional programs. I think Border has a repeat on Thursday nights of Trailblazing or something??

As for who make five go mad...........well Its a Granada Television Production.

Due to the news coverage on Wednesday afternoon, ITV1 Wales are one episode behind with their regional program "Christmas Crackers", the remaining edition will be shown at 5.05pm today.

Are other regions doing the same and opting out of Catchphrase at 5.05pm?

Does anyone know if the 2.30pm slot is to be regional week commencing 5th January 2004?

Meanwhile, ITV1 Wales have said that their consumer series "The Ferret" will return to a Tuesday night 7.30pm slot in the New Year. Lets hope this means regional slots for all regions on both Tuesday/Thursday nights at 7.30pm.

Those opting out at 17:05 are Wales, Yorkshire, Central, West, Meridian, Westcountry and Channel. Scotland were opting out already anyway.

All 4 of the Carlton regions then (as London is GMG on the weekends)

There are 4 local progs for most regions today then, more than there has been on a Sunday afternoon for ages!

It'll be regions that were showing new stuff last week at 2.30pm that are opting out today at 5.05pm. Granada for example were showing repeats so its not important that they missed a day on Wednesday.

And talking about 2004. www.yorkshiretv.com/girlstalk tells us that there is a regional afternoon slot in January
