That's a load of bull! How can an ident package launch clash with a programme!?!

All of the X Factor trails have been designed with the old ITV1 logo.

If that really is the reason to postpone a full network rebrand, it's phenomenally stupid.

Because it's more than an ident. It's a new name (well an old name, reinvented) - a change, people dislike change. 'ITV' might not work and could damage the X-Factor, so if it doesn't it gives them another year to change it!

That I'd love to see.

You seem desperate for a rebrand of a network which won't change anything. Even if it's any good (which it probably won't be), all style no substance. ITV is basically soaps and Syco. And both genres are flagging a bit.

For goodness sake, change the record. Branding is important - hence this forum. It's all about perception.

ITV have produced dramas like Downton Abbey and other quality shows in recent years, and while the channel is still saturated by soap and other things, it has made vast improvements in some areas and the 2012 Drama season looks very promising. The current branding is associated with darker days for ITV and there is probably a mental association with viewers even if subconscious.

Not to mention the fantastic new ITV News website which has seen visitors increase by over 100% and reportedly seeing exponential growth.

Frankly the usual "you can change the branding but it's nothing if the programmes don't change" line is wearing thin.

Apparently revamped ITV News with new set and graphics also pegged for January.

It's all change! And what a relief with ITV News to finally be moving out of Level 2 Sainsbury's car park.

Interesting that their package for England without London is called 'Little Britain'

Incidently I don't know why they've put those details in a Power Point, it's just a text grid

Oh my word. ITV News website? Fantastic? I suppose you can grow from nothing can't you Razz Where are these figures btw?

Of course this forum is about presentation, not disputing that, but to throw a tantrum when there may be good reason behind a delay........ Talk about presentation, sure, but not at the cost of a sound argument. That's playschool.
