Not really sure what to make of it, but assuming it does go back to good old ITV, then the logo will have to be capitialised, as the current logo doesn't look right on it's own, it just looks weak and having no confidence, but the current logo was designed to have numbers and names next to the lower case ITV logo.

Not sure, I think the lowercase letter forms still have potential.

Experimentation (and not supposed to be a complete set)...

If there's something that British TV needs, it's more Gotham Smile

In my opinion, of course. Smile

Well, yeah, they don't really have control over Daybreak. That must annoy them somewhat.

But what I don't understand is, if its ITV1 up until 9.25am, then why are there Scottish adverts slotted in during the commercials?

I believe GMTV traditionally has six advertising regions, similar to Channel 4. I'm not sure if that's changed since ITVplc bought GMTV. They almost certainly have a Scotland advertising region, possibly conterminous with Scottish, Grampian & Border, if it's anything like Channel 4. STV won't have any control over these adverts or be earning any of the revenue.

I like the idea with ITV 4.

Yet as its been said STV and UTV do have stronger brands. Hopeful this ITV will bring it back into the same high level as the other to ITV stations

Because they are regional brands.

ITV stands for nothing more than the destruction of regional identities in England & Wales.

If anything, they should get rid of the ITV part of the name! Very Happy

Yep, that's them. As it says - London, South, Central, North, Scotland & Ulster. I'm not sure what the exact boundaries to these are (bar London & Ulster, obviously) though there'll almost certainly be someone on here that does.

As a guess...

London - London
Ulster - Ulster
South - Anglia, Meridian, Westcountry
Central - Central, Wales & West
North - Granada, Yorkshire, Tyne Tees,
Scotland - Border, Scottish, Grampian

I think Border is part of North.
Do you think STV and UTV may accept this rebrand? If it is good enough?

There'll be no ITV branding on STV and UTV so long as they remain independent of ITVplc, purely because it's no longer a regionally neutral brand. Both companies contested Granada & Carlton's decision to call the product company of their merger 'ITV' but this failed; probably because since 1993, the legal collective name for the regional licences has been 'Channel 3'.
If I'm not mistaken, they do use ITV1 branding overnight, and as already mentioned, during Daybreak. Personally, I see Channel losing it's regional name (as it's now owned by ITV plc), UTV taking the full package but replacing the ITV logo with the UTV one, and STV disregarding it.

STV doesn't use ITV1 overnight, currently we have STV Nightshift on, so there's no hint of ITV1 there.

Would like to know why it was delayed until January.

To avoid clashing with The X Factor, apparently.
