Well I dont think there is much chance of Shortland Street being networked as some regions have never shown it at all and would be like 1400 eps behind HTV if they showed it and if they joined up with HTV or Central they would miss a heck of a lot of eps!
However id settle with this schedule
5.05 Regional (Shortland St on Meridian/Central/HTV/Anglia/Border) Some other overseas soap on other regions
5.30 News hour including a 25 min update from your region at 6pm!
6.30pm Local Progs
7.00pm Crossroads
7.30pm Coro St
8.00pm Emmerdale
I'm not surprised that the axe is to fall on Crossroads. The soap has lost at least six cast members over the last two weeks! Apparently the hotel/motel is in severe financial difficulties and will be making redundancies this week. Sounds like another Carlton venture involving a puppet monkey...
This must be at least the 4th thread this month going on about the axe of it
How many member have actually seen Crossroads at all, or are just going along with the majority opinion?
I don't watch it myself

Karl are you watching ˙SS on HTV on Sky digital or another ITV region as Meridian/Border/Carlton also show it.
I think HTV have the best regional service, they do a great news programme and enough ˙shows like 'The Ferrett',
'Wales This Week' etc and still find time to show Shortland Street 5 days a week in regional slots.
What to Granada Media Group do have the naff Lunchtime Live and repeats of Coronation Street in their regional daytime slots!
I get SS on Carlton central on NTL. I live in the Yorkshire Area so I only just got SS a year ago.

Night and Day would be left to play out in it's X-Rated version. It's too complex for daytime anyway.

Night and Day is too good for itv and it's viewers, if it was on bbc4 everyone would say how inventive and different it was, the problem is itv aims itself at the lowest common denominator, therefore any programmes that involve thinking won't work

No offence but this schedule you have would work if you had Shortland Street Weekday's at 5pm and then after the news hours regional progs/Live Talk/Quiz etc at 6.30pm.
Is is definate Crossroads and N+D will be axed? I think they will keep N+D as a late night soap or 9pm Drama like Bad Girls is. But I dont think they should have another new soaps to replace them but have Shorland Street which is very popular in the regions that bother to show it.

I get SS on Carlton central on NTL. I live in the Yorkshire Area so I only just got SS a year ago.
YTV along with Tyne Tees Border Granada showed SS until the end of 1998 but never brought it back like the promised in the summer of 1999 (Border was the only region that had it back) They only showed it 2 days a week so YTV/TyneTees never got that far into the series and Carlton Westcountry never showed a single episode.
The eps on HTV at the moment were shown on Carlton in Late 1999 but they were also shown on Anglia in April 2000, Meridian Aug 2000 and Border May 2001!

No I dont have Sky unfortunately, I have Cable so only regions I can get are HTV, Meridian and Westcountry.
I dont get ITV2 either but I cant see them showing SS anyway but I have got E4!!!
I might get Sky so I could watch some eps on Carlton but a friend has sent me a few tapes of 1999 eps and I also have the 1998 finale too. I havent seen Tiff's death yet though so will look forward to seeing the storyline in June on HTV now. I havent seen any of 2000 either, is it as good without Rachel and Caroline? Im dreading when Tiff, Caro and Rach are gone but Rach does come back
