It's good to be able to see all ITV regions at the same time (almost)! This has never ever happened before and I havn't had a quality ITV picture for years, i can get Carlton and Meridian through the aerial and all 16 on Sky Digital, i never thought i would see the day, i bet they all get friggin encrypted soon, I'm trying to get every regions ident while i can in good didgital picture! Ive also been paying attention to BBC TWO tonite to see if they put 'Firecracker' Ident back on! They know they want 2!

Asa posted:
'This is Carlton Television, part of ITV1. A very good evening to you. Now at 6.30 it's the ITV Evening News.'

Now that is a proper continuity announcement! And with that ident everyone liked when it was brought up in the thread when HTV turned to the new idents. I thank you Carlton!

Cheers, Asa

Smile he he, Carlton London almost always welcome us in the evening, normally at 7pm too, if it wasnt for the Night & Day Trailers!

It's nice having all the regions to flick through! News Presentation, on all is pretty good. Smile

I've been watching Crossroads on Grampian TV!

All of them are showing pictures in 14:9 but then stretched (ie there's no black bars it fills all the screen) with the exception of Grampian, so I've stuck with that tonight.

Hacked off by the fact that Night and Day introductions are being used everywhere. I won't be watching this at 5.05 (I only have time for 1 soap and that's Crossers!) and will watch it X-Rated on Thursday. Been on the site and it is quite a good soap.

Scottish and Grampian: presentation is class! Damn, I wish we Carltoners had something like this.

Granada channels: The only ones using the 1999 corporate look! Quite like the spinning hearts!

Carlton channels: Seen these anyway, and they're very good but I personally prefer STV's.

UTV: No announcement before X-Files! Dodgy... Nice idents, shame they're not showing a teatime Crossroads anymore.

As most of you guys know, I'm looking forward to LWT's presentation! Roll on Friday...!

And ITV had better not DARE encrypt before I get a chance to see that videowall in good quality.

There are some instructions on the earlier thread james. I won't try to explain as it's much better eplained there Wink That's the ITV on Sky one btw...

I can confirm that DSS *is* in place on Scottish and Grampian TV. It could well be on the other stations as well; you just would not notice it as much because I think it's switching everything to the 1st or 2nd transponder which is reversing the polarity of the LNB giving rise to the glitch (I'm fairly sure of this because I got a signal not found just after the News At 10 ident on Grampian, which does happen every so often on my setup when the polarity changes).

If this is the case, as I have said before I think it means that hard encryption becomes less likely. I am now becoming a bit more confident that the channels are here to stay Smile

Whataday said on another forum that recently an ITV man had boasted about the benefits of receiving other regional news when people are away from home. This would also appear to back up the all regions theory.

Why does everything exciting always happen on Mondays!.

I don't get home until 6.45pm on Mondays, and due to that lovely train company we have in the Yorkshire area, it was 8.30pm tonight.

And now my Dad has decided to watch UK Gold for the first time in his life!.

Anyway, its times like this, I wish I picked up a version of my ITV region which is different from the version carried on SKY.
(Such as Central East, or in my case Calendar East)
Those viewers are getting 1 extra (sub) region than everybody else!
Very Happy

Call me dim but I've only just realised that the DOG has certain parts of the 16 boxes missing with each region - ah! I get it now!! lol!! (for those of you dimmer than me, I think it relates to each of the 16 regions)

Oh BTW, these were two images I forgot to upload earlier!

Jase, you're a clever man and I need information. I saw the 'join us at 6' trailer on Tyne Tees, at about 5 mins before the hour. Now, it looked to me as though the desk I'd seen in previous screenshots had changed - and now has a metal front. Am I very wrong, and was temporarily blinded and indeed mistook wood for metal, or was I right and they do actually have a metal fronted desk?
