Am I correct in thinking that the sub-regions that are on DigiSat are as follows? And can anyone answer the accompanying questions?
Border
both England & Scotland available on seperate labels.
If main HQ and England sub-region come from Carlisle, where does Scotland sub-region come from?
Carlton Central
west/Birmingham - as opposed to east/Nottingham or south/Abingdon
Carlton West Country
south/Plymouth
Where do the west, east and north sub-regions come from? I am correct in thinking there are
four
sub-regions aren't I?
Meridian
south/Southampton - as opposed to south east/New Hythe or Thames Valley/Newbury
Anglia
east/Norwich -
am I correct in thinking there are two Anglia sub-regions(west and east)? if so where does 'west' come from?
I am sure that
Tyne Tees
and
Yorkshire
both have sub-regions, but I don't know how many or where they are based (I know the main HQs are Newcastle and Leeds respectively)
Can anyone fill me in? And which sub-region is on DigiSat?
Cheers in anticipation.

Tyne Tees have 2 sub regions, Newcastle and Teeside, There are opt outs within the main NE Tonight and I believe separate NE Today's.
The one on SKY is probably the Newcastle one.
Yorkshire have 3 sub regions.
There are separate news bulletins at 10.56, 12.45, 3.10 & within the main Calendar programme at about 6.05pm, This is the only difference between the 3 sub regions.
One is from Hull called 'Calendar East'
One is from Sheffield called 'Calendar South'
The main one and the one on SKY, from Leeds is called 'Calendar News'
As far as Anglia goes, I
believe
I'm right in saying the East comes from Norwich, and the west also comes from Norwich. If the west does not come from Norwich, it comes from Cambridge. In fact, I ain't got a clue - Norwich or Cambridge, it's one of them.
The Westcountry feed contains Plymouth. (The other sub-opts are Barnstaple, Truro and Exeter I think. There is no sub-opt at lunchtime, a sub opt in the 1800, and I believe the 2320ish late news is separate for all four sub-regions)
The Anglia feed is Anglia West, this is a full region rather than a sub-opt. This is broadcast to the west of the patch (Cambs, Northants, Beds, Bucks, Herts - the same area covered by the BBC Cambridge sub-opt) from one of two studios in Norwich. (The other studio in Norwich broadcasts to the East - Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex) I think Anglia East and West may no longer be different during GMTV - they are at other times.
The Meridian feed is the Southampton prog, the Carlton Central feed is the Birmingham prog , the Yorkshire feed contains the Leeds sub-opt.
DAS - I think I took a little while to type my response - which was to the post before !
I live in an analogue border area at the moment - half way between Hannington and Crystal Palace. ITV have got my first choice right - I do watch Carlton / LWT as I work in London - however I get a perfectly acceptable Meridian (Newbury) analogue signal. No sign of Meridian (albeit Southampton - but the local non-news progs are the same as Newbury) in my 960s though.
Think I'll see if I can get it added - especially if for some reason it is decided to exclude other regions from OTHER CHANNELS.

Correct! Both East and West services come from Norwich (in fact the studios and galleries back on to each other!). GMTV is no longer split, it went pan-regional a few months ago.
Yes. Carlton and LWT both get their weather from the national team, therefore it seems natural they have national graphics. They have different sponsors (Amerada and Warner Village Cinemas), but use national graphics.
I suppose LWT opted to use the new graphics when they were introduced, and Carlton decided to continue the old look (which, in my opinion, is much better than the new version which is disgusting)

Correct on all counts, also the daytime (11.00, 12.50 and 15.10) bulletins are optouts. The NE Todays are also separate. Also the Newsweek programme on Sunday lunchtimes (programme for the deaf with subtitles) is recorded twice at Newcastle with different sub-regional reports and shown separately for North and South. In addition, the weather forecast before NE Tonight is also recorded twice in Newcastle, but only when Bob is at work! The Leeds ones (when Bob's on holiday) are only done once
The weekend news progs, GMTV and late bulletins are all from Newcastle, although until recently the late one was done from Billingham.
Hope that clarifies things a bit, it's a bit of a complicated system they run at TTTV!!!
BTW Andrew, sorry to nitpick but it's a pet hate of mine, Teesside is not spelt Teeside!!!
