The 'Carlton' transponder might be down, but there are ITV2 tests now on 3-5 on the 'Others' transponder.

I've now got pictures and sound but no 'now & next' details on HTV West (R4 1-4) on the 'Carlton' transponder. Anyone else? I'm in the HTV West area, so I HOPE that's not encryption testing.

Interesting this... (from Ed on MHP/uk.tech.tv.sky)

I can confirm that ITV-2 will shortly be testing via Sky Digital.
On 10906V, 22000 and 5/6 there is a label called 3:5
This is currently showing an NTL Newman Road testcard.
However, the Now and Next banner is showing programme details for ITV-2.
Keep watching as tests will commence soon.

Has a deal (or does a deal need to) been signed then to do these ITV2 tests?

Don't think a deal's needed for TESTS, but if they want ITV2 in the Sky EPG later, they'll have to do a bit of negotiation I'd have thought.

When did Ed first say ITV1 tests were coming 'soon'? Then we could gauge how far away they could be, as his ITV1 info was pretty much correct

ITV2 encryption on Sky would be a comparatively easy proposition -- it's just a standard hard-or-soft-encrypted channel which would only cost ITV the standard fee.

It's ITV1 tht is the stinger because with all the regions it is set to cost ITV a fortune.
