Tyne Tees' Crimestoppers is still using the music which YTV used to use 7 years ago!
And YTV is still using the Community Link sting that TTTV introduced 8 years ago... your point being?
I'm not being disrespectful to Tyne Tees, I'm just wondering why the music was dropped by Yorkshire but lives in in Tyne Tees land.
I do believe, about 6 years ago, Community Link was called CSA (Community Service Announcements).
Then Northern Spirit started to sponsor it, and it was renamed Community Link.
Then when the sponsorship contract with Northern Spirit ran out, the name just stuck, and the same titles have been used ever since...
Jason you have a huge anti-YTV chip on your shoulder. Chill out man, I suggest you go and lie down in a darkened room take some deep breaths and listen to the Channel 3 North East music.
A[[arently the reason YTV started using TTTV's name for PSAs/CSAs/whatever is because on Sunday nights TTTV takes the Asian film and they play an Asian CSA across the 2 regions... TTTV was getting a bit annoyed that a YTV logo was being plastered all over TTTV screens so they came to a compromise...
As for the Crimestoppers sting... who knows? TTTV (along with Granada) started using YTV's music, but TTTV stopped soon after and wentback to the old one. I'm not sure why.
I'm also not certain why they still use Alister Harrison's gruff Geordie voice for Crimestoppers either, when he retired about 6 years ago and must be in his late 70s now. Maybe they just think he has the right voice, dunno...

When I saw it today, it was definally being done by a Tyne Tees geordie type voice.
I don't think they are anything to do with presenation, as the continuity announcers don't voice the Crimestoppers etc.
Alister Harrison was a reporter and newsreader for Tyne Tees in the 70s 80s and 90s, and poss the 60s as well. Maybe he just wants to keep his hand in.
Lovely bloke as well, I've met him on several occasions.
At 5.09pm, Yorkshire had an annoncement fully regionalised, YTV Local ident, Presenters 'Katie Stuart and John Shires' mentioned.
It was voiced by a male voice.
Also at about 5.09pm, Tyne Tees had an announcement which didn't mention any channel name, voiced by Maggie. This was also used on Granada, and it introduced, 'A little extra time for an extra programme...'
About 3 minutes later, Tyne Tees showed the regional ident, the presenter was mentioned, TT was mentioned.
Tyne Tees News finished 30 seconds earlier than Calendar, and showed 'Tyne Tees Weather with Jo Blythe'
then 30 seconds later, YTV showed 'YTV Weather with Jo Blythe', simultaniously!
Tyne Tees then showed a Community Link, which meant YTV caught up, and they both went to the ads together
Before the National News, the announcement was provided by Maggie.
She is one of the two that rarely use the regional announcing equipment, so don't expect any mentions of 'Tyne Tees' etc tonight.
Just after the ITV Weekend News, we saw a brief glimpse of the Invison Presenter sat
in the dark, a local trailer then came on.
After the break, we had the ITV1 Saturday Night trailer but reworked by UTV
with new music, new graphics, new announcer, same clips, same script!.
After a bit of nasty widescreen switching, we crashed into the In-vision
section, followed by a UTV ident.
UTV programme 'All Mixed Up' then began, with another bit of nasty
widescreen switching.
It seems UTV mess up most of their presentation when doing IVC...
The In-vision presenter starts talking before we see him
The pre-programme ident starts, whilst we are still switching into
widescreen
The programme itself often starts messily.
Also Julian has gone home at 10pm, so we now have idents without any sort of
announcements for the rest of the evening!
Remember, if you can, to check out the ITV1 Tests tommorow at 12.30 lunchtime, for the following programmes:
Anglia - Anglia News Sunday Supplement
Central - Central Newsweek
Granada - Sunday Supplement
HTV West - HTV West Newsweek
HTV Wales - Waterfront
LWT - Seven Days
Meridian - 7 Days
Tyne Tees - Newsweek
Westcountry - Westcountry Update
Yorkshire - Calendar Pick of the Week
Also on Sundays, the regions show their Regional News Bulletins at different times as follows:
12.55 - Central, HTV Wales, HTV West
14.00 - Yorkshire, Granada, Tyne Tees, Border, UTV Live
17.15 - Meridian
17.25 - LWT
17.30 - Tyne Tees, Central
18.00 - Yorkshire, UTV, HTV Wales, HTV West
18.05 - Anglia, Westcountry
18.10 - Granada, Border
Plus, there a range of other programmes to look out for including different Soccer Sundays at various times throughout the day
The nasty glitches you see on UTV when switching in and out of IVC are not UTV's fault. This is NTL's testing of widescreen switching that is giving trouble (note that most other regions aren't being properly switched at all). If you see UTV on a proper feed those glitches do not happen.
Julian re-appeared at 11.00 before the news. They don't voice-over all announcements, this is another rather old-fashioned approach that many other stations used to take.
As for 'crashing' into the news, this appears to be standard UTV practice. YTV also used to do this not so long ago.
And as for the UTV-overbranded ITV1 trailers, at least they make an effort to promote an entirely consistent brand.
Look what we get on TTTV: programme ends, ITV1 trailer comes on, followed by a completely differently branded TTTV trailer with 'dots' TTTV logo in a different area of the screen to the ITV1 one immediately preceeding it. Then a ITV1 break bumper, followed by another ITV1 trailer and an ident which has a totally different TTTV logo on it, with an itv.com website address. Announcer promotes next programme as being 'here on ITV1', despite the large letters clearly stating TYNE TEES. Short programme comes on, then we have another ITV1 trailer followed by an ident with a different TTTV logo but without any station names, and the announcer says 'here on Tyne Tees'.
There's no chance the ITV1 promotion is to be reduced, I'd eat my hat (as they say)
More likely is that the 'Tyne Tees' bit of it would be dropped, and that wouldn't be very good
The only people who care about consistent ITV1 branding is David Liddiment and his cronies.
Even UTV and Scottish, still have ITV News, ITV Weather, ITV Sport, mentions of ITV2 within programmes, Credit squeezes, london announcers barking over the credits etc
