I was trying to see the 'staggered start times' on YTV, GRA, TTTV at 6pm tonight, and by the time I'd checked YTV and GRA, TTTV had also started!
Hmm. I watched YTV yesterday and switched over to see the start of TTTV - probably because both programmes don't start dead on 6 anyway!
Cheers, Asa
And then I tried to see the start of Central News at Six, and only caught the back end of the headlines!
The 'Other Channels' area isn't very user friendly, but then again, its not supposed to be!
Ah, I see. I suppose Dsat and DTT will probably mean the end of the television 'clock' in the next year or so. Wonder if the BBC will say, 'And now at Six O'clock, or thereabouts, the news with Huw ...'

Is Scottish actually broadcasting? I seem to be getting Grampian promos on both 3-1 and 3-2!
Lol! You'd be luck to tell the difference between the two at the best of times! I think if it weren't for 'North Tonight' and 'Scotland Today' it might as well be one franchise.
So whats the general consensus about the SMG syle of presentation? I heard some positive comments a few pages ago. If I'm being honest, as an Scottish viewer, I sometimes get the feeling that the station could be housed in someone's basement. Its a bit 'hand-made' I feel...
A helpful hint for those of you wishing to watch as many idents as possible on the late bulletins. GMG stations always start before Carlton stations. So you can always get a Granada/Yorkshire/TTTV ident and flick over to find a Central/HTV/LT ident just starting. And GMG stations always finish their main bulletins (the 6pm ones) before the ex-United ones. So now you know.
Oh, and does that Meridian weather bloke always dance across the studio? Was quite a disturbing sight.
Debbie Lindley 'read' the Granada Weather, even though Jo Blythe did the YTV Weather.
This is because Bob Johnson at Tyne Tees is off this week, so Debbie Lindley covered for him today (in-vision). Yesterday Debbie Lindley was on YTV, and Jo Blythe was on TTTV.

Wow, that Jo Blythe is a bit of alright if she's the one I think she is! Why can't she do Granada weather in-vision?

Heehee, good lad!
Grrrrrrrrrr, curse Granada for not having nice weather presenters in-vision.
Incidentally, I caught Border weather before, that was quite nice. Strange, but nice! Really good graphics for Border!

If it hasn't been mentioned before, there's been a change on that transponder :
3-1 Channel, 3-2 Grampian, 3-3 Scottish, 3-4 Ulster.
Channel is broadcasting either Meridian or Grampian - I think earlier in this thread, someone said that Channel is still getting it's BT Feed Link installed (could be another 2 weeks)
Hmmm. Which to choose? Much as I think that Bob Johnson (the middle-aged balding fat Scottish bloke on Tyne Tees) is a god-like weather forecaster (he's great!!!) he's no match for Jo Blythe in the looks department Or Debbie Lindley for that matter. But especially not Jo....
I have to say that the additon of the regions to the DSat network has given the *independant* back to ITV.
Maybe the big-wigs would find it easier just having one national ITV, however what is being shown to us it many, many regional programming, 14 times more choice of regional programming than ever before.
As we've always said, ITV's main selling point is its regionality, if they want to merge it all together, that's fine as long as they can accept that they will lose out in the long term.
At this point I want to go on to how ITV Digital is the biggest mistake ever made, however that is another topic. To finish, regionalism is back in ITV, and this could, just, save 'Britain's favourite button'.
