Looks like a dirty feed again tonight. STV ran the network ECP at the end of Emmerdale - complete with the giant ITV1 logo! I wonder if this is really a technical problem. Perhaps SMG and UTV have voluntarily agreed to start taking this feed.
Same after Coronation Street.
It's unlikely that its intentional, SMG are quite strict when it comes to ITV1 presentation.
But it's not beyond the realms of possibility that ITVplc and SMG could come to an agreement over the end credit cross-promtion of ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4.
When Carlton and Granada's merger got the green light, several measures were put in place to protect SMG and UTV. One of these was that a clean feed had to be made available to these companies. However there was no legal requirement on the smaller companies to actually take advantage of it...

Yeah, Chris Evans talking to a female announcer (don't know which one). Much better than SMG's attempts.
The only problem with the feed however is the fact they are calling the station 'ITV1' which SMG definately don't want!
Bernard Ponsonby into I'm A Celebrity tonight as well .... they really know how to link their celebrities with the target audience...
SMG have never quite known how to do the ECP - the script was never any better than your nan reading what's on next out of TV Times (probably less detailed) and it was always way too short. ITV1 are doing a masterclass tonight. I'm still struggling to imagine SMG and UTV agreeing to it though, especially as they both made such an effort to remove ITV1 from the Harry Potter trail.
SMG have a continuity announcer that I don't recognise on tonight - maybe they're just leaving it until the experienced people come in on Monday to fix it.

I've heard that announcer a few times this week. Who knows, they might keep the dirty feed. We can only hope!

I agree! There must be a fault especial if Bernard Ponsonby ident keep popping up!
I haven't heard that announcer before either! There must a problem! I bet he’s a technician!
Well were just have to wait till tomorrow night to found out if that the case, I hope to god that is the case I can't stand that ITV1 logo
SMG (and ITV!) announcers have no technical responsibilities... so I'm sure the fact that someone new is on duty is just a coincidence!!
I suppose we'll learn tomorrow if this is all a cock-up, technical problem or a change in policy. Who'll be tuning in after Jeremy Kyle and This Morning?
On the Bernard Ponsonby issue - that's certainly not down to any technical error, SMG always pick baffling celebrities to accompany programmes - often ones that long since left the company.
The question of SMG ECPs versus ITV1 is an interesting one - I can't deny for a second that ITV1 ECPs are far better, on account of the fact that they actually tell you about the programme coming up next, as opposed to just reading out the list. But it would be an erosion of the Scottish-ness of the station to just shove on network branding, as opposed to Scottish or Grampian TV. In the long term, it would be a step in the wrong direction, albeit a move which will happen one day.
It would also be a major reverse in policy for SMG and UTV - both have been determined to retain their branding. I take it UTV are still using the dirty feed tonight?

So you'd rather have a boring announcement with 4 squares than a slightly more interesting announcement with a logo?
YES! ( four block is a logo)
And anyway stv going to have to change there logo next year, as it had it run! With the people looking into the camera.
if you lucky there use the NEW ITV one with "Scottish" Slap on top of ITV instead.

No I hate them,
There just so "London" there no focus on the original idea of ITV! 15 local channels, it nice hearing a Scottish voice for programme information
