Yes, that is what I ment. I didn't realise the circles sting wasn't new. For a long time it was sponsered by Wessex Trains.
They had one (well they did in Central West), back at the time of the relaunch that was different to the main one, but they've since started to use the main ITV News one.
Yeah it looks really great, although they have tonnes of idents to choose from now, from the next, then later one to the replay, exclusive and flip side idents, to the generic graphic ones. I like the ITV2 look though!
It is a great set of idents, as the logo is simple, the idea is simple, the extension brands are simple, and so is the music.
It's so easy for them to add new idents, which I hope they do just to add more to them. It's a shame that ITV1 isn't like this, which it could easily be, except with ITV1 using a multitude of different backgrounds, rather than 3!
Though then perhaps the two brands will look samey, which they do now anyway.
I'd have still stuck to celebrities with ITV1, even though everyone hates them, but have them on many different sets, and interacting with the squares, perhaps more cubes.
Just look at the Bruce Dunlop Australia website and see the things that they've achieved by using the Celebrity approach with the 7 network, and developed a graffiti idea with a graphic that forms the logo.
Why couldn't they have put more effort into it in this country?
The graphic idents are nice, but they're just too boring. I didn't think I'd miss the celebrities, but I did like the 03-04 sets, and music that accompanied them. The only thing that let me down was the generic ident and the way that the logo animated onto the screen, oh and the glassy looking logo, it's ok for Christmas, but not so good all year round.
Caught the ITV1 style ITV2 Now/Next ident earlier as well. Is there also one for ITV3?
I haven't noticed one, but I would imagine that there will be.
Though there aren't many ITV3 idents, I've only seen a couple of the three views idents, and then you get the general wire cube design going past the words movies and drama, it's a shame that their arent others.
Interesting that there seems to be 3 different edits of each of the idents, a long version, medium and short. Add that to the ones with the menus and the ones featuring clips and that's at least 15 different versions to collect. Not quite as many as the celebs but still quite a few

It's just a shame that they all use the same 3 backgrounds, and totally incorrectly having a light cloudy sky at 10pm.
I dont actually mind just having 3 backgrounds, we had 3 backgrounds from 99 - 2002 and I liked that look, and these idents are much more interesting than spining hearts. Its just the clouds appearing everywhere that does it, daytime only! I still think the 3D shiny sports logo still looks fantasic though!

I'm sure it says that you are in a Carlton region.
If you're on about the Carlton idents of 1999, they were stunning. I wouldn't mind if the ITV1 idents were like this in a way of where there were many different themes that end up with the same background, and logo.
They're just a bit samey, as the backgrounds are the same, the music all sounds the same, the animation of the logo is the same, it's just a little shabby to what Bruce Dunlop can achieve looking at the website.

Yeah I am in the Carlton region, but I was referring the LWT first idents, before the video wall and the general look, as they were used overnight as the ITV1 service. Looking at BDA's showreel, their work looks really good, just looks a little more plain when they show their work off as a large as company as ITV.
I'm sure I haven't been drinking tonight but from the looks of the last junction on ITV1 Yorkshire I may have been!
The trailer for Yorkshire Steam faded into the end of one for "Go North West" which shows that the whole GMG North operation is still based on the Granada feed.
Then we got an ident into a filler programme and the announcer said "It's coming up to 12.30 now on ITV1 Norwich, time now for Pulling Power"
