I couldn't disagree with you more. I think ITV have got this two channel business spot on. Like last night ITV1 showed pop idol, then as soon as it finished on the main channel, flick over to ITV2 for Pop Idol Extra and more interviews with the contestants. Therefore providing an increased service for die hard fans of that particular show. They did the same with Popstars Extra and Soapstars. Also, the other week when ITV1 had shown the Bond Movie, flick over to ITV2 who had a themed night of Bond Programming. This is exactly what a second channel should be doing, enhancing the coverage on the main channel in the hope that viewers who enjoyed the show on ITV1 might want to stay with the network for more of the same on ITV2.
The Goal Rush goes out on ITV2 because not everyone has access to the ITV Sport Channel. ITV1 was taking the Goal Rush during the 2nd half, but I understand that is due to change soon, as there is to be a new start time for the Goal Rush on ITV1. Maybe they are about to take the full service ??

ITV really haven't got the hang of this two channel business. They ought to learn the second channel is supposed to provide an alternative, not just show the same thing as the main channel! They've already been doing this with The Goal Rush. Why can't the interactive gubbins just go out on ITV1?
