I've got a feeling that the original hearts ident is at http://tvarchive.mediabullet.co.uk - but it seems to be down at the moment.
The ident was actually on TV Home origonally as I recall.
I have to say that I think the 'never used' ident Asa posted looks so much better than the hearts! Proof that Network Centre don't know their idents from their elbow!

Seems strange to me that ITV have a habit of making idents which never get used - take the 1989 ITV Generic look. I've got the full set on video, including TVS, TSW, Ulster, Scottish, Granada, Anglia and Channel. Such a waste of money.

Any chance of Anglia's & Channel's as Real Play files like TV Ark has with TVS, TSW, Ulster & Granada.

I think Yorkshire's has the smallest text, then Tyne Tees and then Granada. I'm in the Meridian Overlap region with Carlton so I'm not complaining!
Well surely it's all to do with the number of letters in the titles. Hence YORKSHIRE is quite small, yet ANGLIA is quite big.
Okay, so how does that explain Meridian then? That has more letters in it than Granada -- and yet is about 3 times the size.
What I can't understand is why Granada, when they made the decision to only show the static ident most of the time (which is one of the areas I like about Leeds continuity funnily enough, it allows the announcer more time to make a meaningful announcement) they couldn't have put the basic design onto multiple backgrounds. That could have been done in an afternoon as soon as they acquired the template (which must exist somewhere), then have a series of generic backgrounds, each with the form-up lines if they were available, and regional versions could have been made to give a cohesive brand image whilst keeping in with the itv theme. Seems simple enough to me...
It' looks to me that the ex- United News and Media companies have the regional names in big, while the GMG companies went for a smaller font for it's regional names.
BTW Does Anglia have a 16:9 hearts idents, it's just that before the regional news(the only time I watch ANGLIA) the idents are 4:3 zoomed to 14:9 on a 16:9 frame!

The Anglia ident posted above definitely isn't along the lines of the ones I saw. That must be a first re-edit, before they came up with the current ones.
