ITV1-only idents - a pack of lies

To save any newcomers ploughing through all these pages. The statement below was made a while ago. We all made our remarks. Some believed it, some didn't, and now has been proved wrong!

That's right folks!

In ALL GMG regions, regional identity will be removed. Think about the current GMG Christmas idents, and combine them with the purple GMG endcaps and, hey presto, we have 2002 ITV idents!

All gone in favour of just a plain 'ITV1' logo and possible 'GR/N/DA' at the bottom next to the itv.com!

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad that Carlton bought HTV!!!

I can't see LWT sticking to the ident personally - you know what happened with the last generic Granada inflicted on LWT.

Here's hoping for videowall variations.

This is sad, if it turns out to be true, regional identity is literally eroding away before our very eyes here in the North!

Still, according to 'The Source', LWT initially refused the generic ITV1 ident. But Granada forced them to take it up. So it looks like the GMG regions are buggered.

Ident description: Take the stars away from the ITV1 Christmas ident, make the logo blue and yellow and the background white and yellow and bingo.

Come on LWT! Make yourselves independent - forget Granada!

I'm preparing a 'nice' email to the LWT Duty Office as we speak.
