ITV1 idents

When ITV1 launched most people on here were under the impression that the amended hearts idents were a short term fix. So, are we any the wiser, are Granada group stations about to roll out brand new heart idents some time soon ? Or are ITV dumping the hearts branding ? Or are these amended idents here to stay ?

Thoughts please.

i was shocked to seeon 28/09/01 itv1 night time ident now has a beggining - ie it forms from lines like the 'itv1regional' idents, and uses the 'itv1regional' music too

is this a one off or the new ident?

I contacted YTV and Meridian and they both have no plans and have not heard of bringing in new idents

It is possible that Granada North West Heart idents could change slightly on Monday, when Granada Reports comes back to our screens, and the possiblity of a new Granada logo (http://www.tvforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=621). This could be because Granada could start using the G R / N / D A lettering for their idents as part of the new logo.

Well it may have already been commented on here before, I dunno. But a while back when ITV1 launched we no longer had the intro music to the idents while they we're forming, they just started with the main music straight away - no intro.

However, a couple of days ago I noticed them now using the intro music again, while the ident was forming...

I'll just get in here before chesh gets in there, there is no reason for Granada to use the Granada Media logo they are seperate. Also the new look Granada(ie these pictures that have surfaced) doesn't use that either.
I think it would be good if all of the companies slowly one by one broke away from genericism, as Granada maybe doing, TTTV can do another version of their regional one which I quite like, and then finally we will have a regional looking ITV(readt for the launch on sky so you can all get capping!) - I wish!

I very much doubt that, the ITV branding is in force big time everywhere now,

It's a family of channels, and I can't see ITV1 disappearing altogether from the idents.

YTV used that 'spinning heart' animation thing yesterday.

That'll be its quarterly appearance then!

Yes, The YTV lot do seem to be using 'Lines - Daytime (Long Version with long music' ident a bit more often lately

Granada Television Ltd (the one you see on screen) is a sub-company of Granada Media plc (the one with the GR^N^D^ logo).

You ain't gonna see that logo on screen regulary.

Every week on Goal Rush for one thing, so it is regular, but only on endcaps!
