Given it a 'revamp'. Absolute rubbish. Totally massive club logos, annoying 'swish' noise when graphics animate, unnecessary phrases '(Champions Tuesday'- what is the point?) and also the pundits are giving their analysis on the touchline instead of the studio.
This is only after 10 mins, lets hope there's no more surprises when the match starts.
Scottish TV are exactly the same as usual, covering the Rangers game with the nightmare combination of Archie Macpherson and Andy Walker. Archie must be about 100 years old now, and always seems to be half an hour behind the game.
Rangers 1-0 up. Corner for Porto. Cue Archie: "Rangers must try to keep this goal advantage for as long as possible in this second half." You can probably guess what happened direct from the corner...
All we need is Andy to say "There's only one team going to win this game now".
Having pundits on the touchline is similar to what i've seen German broadcasters do, including the glass screen.
ITV have attempted to make their own CL graphics match similar to UEFA official graphics, but have firstly used the wrong shade of blue so it instead has a greenish tint. The introduction of Ultramotion is welcome, but it's of little use in football due to the way it works.
The Ten out of Ten scorecard should be left to the newspapers.
And finally, the onscreen scorebox is far too big, stretching almost halfway across the screen. Sky's version is incredibly neat and tidy in comparison. And do we need the ITV logo on the scorebox and the ITV2 dog?
