ITV1 To Ditch Their New Idents......?

I think, that with channel branding, they should have their own tune, like with the BBC One idetns, they have their own tune. but ITV has some different jingles to all there, dont ask how many idents. I honestly think they should ditch them.Red Bee could do much better. Ditch them!!!! But i still wonder what the Christmas idents will be like? does anyone have a clue?

They were more to do with covering up the demise of Carlton as a brand name than promoting regional output.

They aren't better than the dancers....

The ITV1 idents are a bunch of clips accompanied by music which is for the most part dull, and fails to even remotely capture the imagination.

Whereas, while BBC ONE has had naff idents like Maasai, there are some very nice scenic or well-shot idents like Capoeira and Acrobats. These have put BBC ONE ahead of ITV1 in the identity stakes, IMO.


I won't shed a single tear if the current ITV idents go. They are such rubbish. Surely you would think they could do better, but noooo....

As for the Dancers, I find that to be hit and miss. Some are bad, some are just awesome (the Skateboarders in the Dockyard one, the Capoeira one, the Acrobats, to name a few). I really don't see why people hate the Dancers so much. It does have really good ones. I just think people focus on the negative too much.

And getting rid of the Carlton brand was no bad thing as at least Central and Westcountry names came back, if only before regional programmes.

I wish they would get rid of the one with the voice over sounding like a fire siren, whoever thought that would be a nice sound to introduce the next programme with

Thats a mock, not the real thing. I don't think an ITV HD logo even exists yet.
