Definitely sounds Geordie to me.

On a side note why is this particular CA the most frequently heard male voiceover in primetime? Bit of an odd question but I never seem to hear the other two guys outside of daytime.

For what it's worth, I rule that is definitely not a Scottish accent. North East England sounds about right. Quite amusing to hear that CAs also have what I would call a "phone voice" or in their case "work voice".

Guess I never really thought about it before.

His microphone voice is difficult to place, but when he says, "Ah did ya? Ah didn't hear that..." he's got the dipthongs and vowel sounds of a Geordie.

It sounds really tacky when they don't turn the sound up almost immediately after speaking, it stays quiet about 2-5 seconds after speaking and then turns up again.

I would agree with geordie. It's certainly not a scots accent.
