ITV1 Christmas Presentation

Yeah the background is a bit of a let down from the News ident we had last year, but i like the little jingles.

Out of the Terrestrial channels I think ITV1 has the nicest package this year, not brilliant, but christmassy. The logo does look dodgy barbed wire affect but again nice.

Haven't seen ITV2's, but ITV3's are very nice, jolly breakbumper too.

Overall the ITV Christmas Idents are not bad, I would give them a 7/10

Does anyone know what UTV did for the xmas idents this year?

I prefer this ident to last year's - and it's certainly the best presentation package seen this year.



They use the promo sting where the image zooms into the spiky object with the charachters, and then cuts to a light background with snowflakes and the UTV logo with "Merry Christmas" underneath.

They use the Music to Network's Christmas Long Ident V1 in the clip I've seen, I assume they've only made one ident.

If you look in the UTV Christmas Ident thread, you'll see that there is also a version featuring the old UTV jingle!

So, who did the final announcement tonight on ITV1? I believe TV Home had a clip of last year's with Paul Jamieson, which was a rather nice announcement.

Remember, if you want to see the Christmas idents clean, they will no doubt be shown on UTV at 12.45am, 4.45am, 5.55am and 6.00am!

Ah, Ive just realised what is actually featured in the ITV1 idents - it is the head-wear as worn by Jesus Christ (alledgelly)

But surely that is more an Easter thing... he wears 'thorns' in his trial, though I've never heard anything about Moon, Triangles, Stars or Squares having anything to do with headwear .

The Christmas ident wasn't shown for tonight's News Special from ITN, instead a silent ident with a blue moving sheet in the background was shown - quite like "Ribbons" but only one piece of 'fabric'. Don't know if this has been shown before...
