Also, GMG's Weather Graphics now have the usual festive look. Holly in the corner and Snowflakes for the backing image on the front slide. The maps have a snowflake design where the info is placed under the day. (Same as last year).
Expecting TTTV to tinker as usual - Bob loves the maps to be over the top!
Any of the ex-Carlton, UTV, Channel or SMG maps using festive graphics yet?

OH
Yes - the 'stings' as shown on UTV in their version of the Christmas Ident might be used in the national version of the ITV1 Christmas Ident!
BUT
I got a sneaky feeling that there will be a few different type of Christmas Ident on ITV1. Featuring the ice from the promo so the now and later text can be added and also a version similar to UTV's but possibly without those naff snowflakes!

Well the Christmas sting has started on ITV1 (same style as the first part of UTV's ident), but the usual idents are still in place. Next week's trailers also have Christmas graphics on the endboard. Hopefully the idents will look just as good.

Perhaps the 'strings' the charachters are sliding on could be connected to an ident background...

Well unless they're starting at 7pm it looks like it may be Christmas Eve.
By looking at the UTV thread, I expect there ident will be ITV1's. Unless they've edited a version of jingles bells to ITV1 jingle themselves and used and edited it together from a sting.
Hopefully though the ITV1 version won't end with that light version, it looks so odd to add a contrast, and if that's a UTV job, they should have just used their breakbumper design with snowflakes added.
Looking at the breakflash style start of one of trailers, perhaps ITV1's will be like this except reversed so that they become the squares.
It's a shame that the trailer squares don't have a glittering effect, even though the the dancing squares do sparkle, hopefully the ident logo will have something.

So, the general consensus is that the Christmas idents will launch tomorrow, then? I do hope so, else we'll probably have to wait until Christmas Eve like last year.

Just under eight-and-a-half hours now until we see ITV1's Christmas ident this year. Isn't it strange how ITV wait so long to introduce Christmas idents, whereas practically every other channel introduced theirs on Monday at the latest? The major exception being, of course, Channel 4, who are also acting out of character this year - they normally bring out their idents several days before the big day.

I think the situation with idents (and schedules for that matter) has been a little bit odd this year. Generally when Christmas Day falls on a weekday most channels will launch their Christmas Idents at the start of that week. With Christmas Day being on a Saturday this year they've had to decide wheather to launch them at the start of this week or wait until Christmas Eve.
Personally I think the BBC launching them on Saturday was far too early and even launching them on Monday means they'll have been on air for quite some time before Christmas Day itself. I prefer them launching nearer to the day it makes them feel a bit more special.
I'd imagine it'll be a simular situation in 2005.

Channel 4 have obviously only got their 4Tree idents again and decided to give them a miss this year.
