Does '' Freesat / Freesat from Sky / Sky TV '' offer the channel '' ITV1 Central East '' ?

Can I access this channel on the digital satellite platform ?

Is this channel available without a viewing card ?

Can this channel be added manually etc ?

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your assistance, consideration and time and I look forward to receiving your replies in due course. In the meantime, thank you

Central East ceased to exist in February 2009 when ITV regional news was 'rationalised'. The sub region only exists now for advertising purposes, there is no difference in content between it and Central West.

Central still have opt outs for East Midlands news during Central Tonight at 6pm and (I think) for the late evening news. Weekend and Daybreak bulletins are pan-regional as are lunchtimes except for the weather forecast. The BBC provide a better regional service for the East Midlands with localised bulletins at all times.

Thank you for that info '' cwathen '' & '' Channel 8 ''. Are Centrals opt out for the East Midlands news offered on '' Freesat / Freesat from Sky / Sky TV '' ?

ITV1 Central East is on Astra 2B: 11973.00 V 27500 2/3
It is free-to-view so you need a viewing card for Sky or Freesat from Sky; you can't get it on Freesat.

ITV1 Central West is on Astra 2D: 10758.00 V 22000 5/6
It is free-to-air so you don't need a viewing card and can therefore also get this on Freesat,

Correct. Central have 6 min opts within the bulletin and separate late bulletins

Example, 20/7/10 - You will see different titles/headlines and split in the middle..

(EAST) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgGcWSL1OZM

Also spot the error when the regions join after the headlines! Smile (noticeable more on West edition)

D/B, Lunch and Weekend are pan-regionals in terms of news

I didn't realise that Central East was retained as a subopt, I thought the best any region got was to have a single pan-regional service. Signficantly better than us poor souls here who now only get the same level of sub-opting on a gigantic 'region' running from the depths of Cornwall into the eastern reaches of Gloucstershire, or those further up north in the similarly preposterous merged Tyne Tees + Border region.

Yorkshire also has a sub opt still.

Westcountry gets a 15-minute opt, though, whereas Central only splits for 6 minutes in the 6pm programme.

Meridian also sub-opts at 1800 and 2228 (although one the two "sub-regions" is the entire old Thames Valley and more still of Meridian).

It's 8 minutes actually Wink and the West is always live unless a major story breaks that day in the East Midlands which is a little biased I think.

Interestingly, michaelgrantchapman1, why are you typing like a new member?
