ITV1 Carlton --------> ITV Central!!!

YTV's "Girls Talk" today ended with the endcap "ITV Yorkshire - An ITV Production" same as those above.

It's the first time I've seen this used in this region, last week the same show still had 'A Yorkshire Television Production' at the end

I noticed tonight when switching to ITV1, the strap at the bottom of my television set which flashes up the channel name when I change channels has been changed!

Instead of saying "Carlton Television" or "Carlton" which it has done now for 5 years, it now reads:-

"ITV Central"!!!!!!

Woo hoo! I wonder if Centext has returned to?? Haven't had chance to check that yet...

How interesting. 600+ now have the title on the top bar of simple ITV, page 600 is still titled Carlton though.

They should really update some of the pages. The old CiTV page 657, used mainly in 1998 features the CiTV logo, the address (still the same PO Box 4000, Birmingham B1 2JL), but then features the old email address of citv@itv.co.uk (they now use studio@citv.co.uk), and the old old competition phone number 0894 123344 (used from May 1998 -1999 sometime, before they introduced 09011 10 50 10, which has since been replaced for the past couple of years by 0901 0707 123).

Centext isn't back yet...a lot of the pages have had the Carlton name removed though and a generic ITV1 logo placed there instead with a blue and yellow strap instead. "Central" is also mentionned on a lot of these straps too.

I guess "Carlton" will be removed completely in the next few days on the main index page and everything else.

ITV1 Central Text is now officially back again!!! I've had a swift look about the 600+ pages and didn't see any trace of "Carlton" mentioned at the top of the pages!

What does the channel identifier call itself at the bottom of the screen when you select ITV Central. I'm not sure of the official term but basically I like to call it a form of RDS which is displayed at the bottom of the tv screen in the form of one line of teletext and stays on screen for a few seconds.

Unfortunately my new tv does not show this but my last tv did say "Carlton Television" I take it some of you will know what I'm banging on about!

That say's 'ITV Central'. Yes I am right. Not 'ITV1 Central'.
