ITV1 Boat Race Idents

It seems that special idents are not dead in the Red Bee ITV era as ITV1 are using one occasionally now for the Boat Race.

It's just last year's edited with the new logo on, but at least it means they will still be giving us variety as and when required.

There's also the Ice Age breakbumpers airing at the moment too

Plus did you all see the ECP at the end of Coronation Street, instead of animating on and off, characters from Ice Age pulled and pushed it on and off screen

I know, horrible. The Boat Race Ident is terrible, and doesn't fit in with the image at all. And these Ice Age characters running across end credits is just as irritating. Sort it out, ITV!

I thought it was quite good how the ice age characters were running across the Corrie credits. lol

I couldn't disagree more. I thought it looked really tacky. But each to their own. Make sure you reach the families eh ITV? By targeting your most watched show. That'll bring in the money.

The Boat Race ident simply does not work with the latest logo...

Rowers are aligned at the left side, in perfect position to get their heads obscured by the 'itv' box !

On the Wales version, the "Wales" is nearly overlapping the ITV logo, and it disappears then reappears mid-ident! Very shabby.

It would probably have looked better if the image had been flipped to the other side.

Could possibly be some special end of parts for the film itself....

Shame it clashes with a Grand Prix weekend, would've been like old times having Steve Rider present coverage of the boat race - of course, having Steve doing F1 is a bit like old times as well...

why so cynical? i thought the Ice Age pres was a nice touch.

Talking of Ice Age, does anyone know why they're repeating it next Saturday (1st April) at 4:15? Are ITV trying to be like Sky Movies?
