The space might have been cleared on 10.832 H so that ITV1 BorderSco can move here (from 10.891 H). Which means both Border regions are on the same transponder. That then leaves a slot free on 10.891 H for ITV1 Yorkshire South to launch. As a result, all three Yorkshire regions would be on the same transponder. Or, ITV1 Yorkshire South could simply launch on 10.832 H and BorderSco would not move.

Another change might involve moving ITV3 from 10.906 V to 10.758 V. That then leaves two channel slots free on 10.906 V for the two extra Grampian TV sub regions to launch on 10.906 V.

Most unlikely.

Are Scottissh, UTV and Channel renting space on the ITV PLC satellite transponders (which are presumably Granada transonders?) - or is there some remnants of the federal ITV organisation that owns them?

Presumably the Scottish TV regions won't get backhauled to London, for the same reason that the Westcountry ones won't, they aren't derived in Leeds or the South Bank, and so it would cost money to buy circuits to backhaul?

The two Scottish sub-regions (East and West) are already on backhaul and are on Astra, noggin.

Lots of people keep talking about TWO more Grampians going on Astra, but whenever I check with people who KNOW, rather that GUESS WILDLY, I can only ever get anyone to talk of ONE more Grampian coming on.

When I KNOW something more, I'll report back.

What is likely then?

Why not read the thread properly?

I'm only aware of TWO more DEFINITES to come in this current round. They are Yorkshire South and ONE more Grampian.

Then there's a grey area of some which MIGHT come, like a third Grampian and, from what's been said above, a third Tyne-Tees.

Then there's the DEFINITELY NOT category into which the three other Westcountrys, sadly, have to go.

No. I was not talking about which regions are to launch on Sky. I was actually talking about how the regions are going to fit on the transponders and if any transponder moves are likely to take place. So far quite a few transponder moves have taken place to accomodate the sub regions.

And at lunchtime today (5th Aug).

I suspect that the backhaul circuit for the sub region from LNN to Arqiva's uplink system is not in place yet. They've obviously got Sky to remap the relevant viewing cards to the t/p stream, but are still routing the 'Rowridge' feed to it
