Border England has, today, moved from the ITV-2 Astra transponder to ITV-1.

Details here.

Three new test channels have also appeared today, so it looks like some more sub-regions are imminent.

The other three regions that started tests today were Yorkshire Anglia and Tyne Tees - I think maybe one or two of these are transponder changes, and the others are new sub-regions.

It's the further version of Anglia West (10180 on ITV-4) which is puzzling me, James, as there are more than enough Anglias around already.

Tyne-Tees (10191 on ITV-4) is obviously ready for the sub-region.

Yorkshire (10161 on ITV-2) obviously ready for one of the subs; Yorkshire East was being RUMOURED as close, so possibly that.

The guys on Digitalspy say the new Anglia region is the one from Tacolneston I think - I think its just advert differences and maybe a news sub-region.

Unless Anglia are planning a further split then there are only two news programmes.

Anglia West is broadcast from Sandy Heath (and was the single variant carried on DSat until the recent changes). It covers the same region as the Look East Cambridge sub-region.

Anglia East is broadcast from both Tac and Sudbury - and covers the same area as Look East Norwich.

Anglia did used to be able to split the East region in two for advert purposes - so this might be the reason.

That's as I see it, noggin; no need for further splits for Anglia on Astra.

The little I've seen from Digital Spy doesn't inspire me with very much confidence that there's anyone on there who speaks from any hard knowledge. They just seem to waffle and speculate a lot, which isn't particularly helpful if you want FACTS.

My THOUGHTS are that all these spare Anglias are just parking places for either more Yorkshires or more Westcountrys. We'll just have to wait and see.

As ever, when I KNOW something, I'll post it; and if I'm speculating, I'll make clear that fact.

It is. Anglia East splits into Anglia North and Anglia South, ie Tac and Sud. North and South can be bought seperately.

Tyne-Tees

What-is-this-"Tyne-Tees"-station-of-which-you-speak?

I've-heard-of-a-"Tyne Tees",-but-no Tyne-Tees.

A couple more tests have come up today, both on the ITV-2 transponder.

10142 is carrying Meridian South at present; 10143 has no signal as yet.

Only two more regions left now to add their sub-regions, Westcountry Smile and Grampian.

They'll probably begin testing shortly after the current ones testing are launched in their respective areas.

I suppose, like me to an extent, you're waiting for Westcountry North, James?

Yup! (Hence the smile after Westcountry!)
