Anglia News comes from Norwich - Meridian News comes from either Southampton or Maidstone. Presentation for both is handled by LNN.
LNN broadcast the programmes and adverts for both services from the South Bank - however I think that until recently Meridian switched the Newbury (now from a second So'ton Studio) and Maidstone programmes into circuit.
I suspect that there has been a switching problem at LNN - or a breakdown - meaning the Anglia feed was replaced by the Meridian one?
(This is not the first time this has happened - Anglia and Meridian presentation used to be handled by Meridian in Southampton - dating back to the time when they were both owned by United News and Media. In those days cock-ups would occur - I remember watching Anglia and seeing Meridian colour bars instead of an ad break one evening. In this United era they also used to share / co-produce non-news local programmes like "The Road Show" etc., until they got a tap on the knuckles from the ITC. They were odd shows - as the cars were either test driven in Berkshire or Norfolk it seemed!)

Just incase nobody has noticed, after Johnathan Dimbleby we had the Meridian News, Weather and a local programme, I think called The Meridan Mouse with TV Legend, Freddy Dinange.
I thought Anglia came from the southbank, and not Meridian?

Nowadays both Anglia and Meridian are transmitted from London News Network, which also playsout ITV1 London, ITV1 Wales, ITV1 West and ITV1 Westcountry.
The regional news still comes from their normal studios, but I can't see why LNN couldn't play out the correct programme for Anglia, as all non news regional programmes are broadcast from LNN.

Yep - though it could have been a routing problem (so the correct programme could have been playing out but not going anywhere?) - or a failure of one system (meaning Anglia dropped back to Meridian as a backup?)
Out of interest - do both of Anglia's news studios get fed to the South Bank - and then fed back up on the three separate feeds (Anglia has three advert regions)?

From what I saw, Anglia News was broadcasting as normal on Anglia terrestrial (Sandy Heath), but on Sky Digital Anglia was broadcasting Meridian.
