ITV1 ad breaks

Was watching Al Murray's Happy Hour last night (Fri 24th Oct) and in all three ad breaks there were no commercials! One had a seemingly extended trailer for Jack Osbourne Celebrity Adrenalin Junkie, the last break had a new drama trailer then the 'coming up on the late news...' promo. But none had any actual advertisements.

Why was this? Prime Time? No revenue from any ads for a full hour? Effect of the Credit Crunch?

Only 40 minutes of advertising is allowed to be run in peak time, and rather than spread it equally around the five hours ITV choose to concentrate it around the soaps in early peak as that's where the big audiences are. Most weekdays there are very few ads in the 1800 and 2200 hours, but usually the news is on that slot so you don't notice, Friday is an exception! Al murray does get about three minutes longer on air as as result though...
