If the relaunch is tomorrow, i'm sure they'll have a new look, without hearts. Noone likes the hearts, so annoying!
We'll see, your opinions here:

The ITV website says that it is being rebranded ITV 1 tomorrow but I think the promo boards will change but not a lot else. I have a feeling we will have to wait until the autumn before we see any new idents when the ITV sport channel is launched. ITV 2 have started using a promo board like ITV with the ITV2 logo instead of ITV - no hearts, just flashing blurs of the logo. I think the ITV1 ones will probably look very similar. But who knows? Anything might happen tomorrow. The hearts were a clever idea - Carlton pulled it off but the ITV generics were awful. Oh and I updated my On Digital box today and it now says ITV 1 if thats any help.

wow, it's final. The world won't sleep tonight through sheer excitment that ITV is changing it's name to ITV 1.
Although if you think about it, a lot will change. Including the ITV ITN news programme. It'll be, ITV1 ITN. Phew, it's getting to sound American with the names.
And Trevor or whoever will say 'Next on ITV1.....'

well you'd better all capture it for poor non-UK residents like us!

From what I've heard/read - they will still use the hearts - albeit an updated version…

ITV has contracted FutureBrand English & Pockett to re-brand ITV, in the teeth of an ongoing advertising downturn and mounting criticism of the ONdigital platform.

ONdigital will become ITV Digital, and ITV will also be renamed, as ITV1; other branding work will launch the new sports channel ITV Sport, as well as ITV Active and ITV.com.

The on-air branding for ITV Digital will be aimed at a '25 to45 year-old core audience.'

The concept for the new sports channel will 'focus on the channel's main output: football,' according to FE&P, while ITV1 idents will mix live action and 3D visuals using the ITV heart motif.

I don't think the news will change. I think it will stay as ITV News and ITV weather. If ITV 2 ever had a news update it would look a bit stupid with ITV 1 all over the news. It will be a bit mad though - on my digital box ITV 1 and ITV 2 are about 3 stations away from each other. If the BBC rename then their numbers will be all over the place. I think ITV should have come up with something a bit more original really. ITV First Showing and ITV Repeats of Everything We Showed Early would be better!

The advantage of the ONDigital (RIP) box is that you can change the channel order to whatever you like so, like me, you could have BBC1, 2, 3, 4 etc in sequence, followed by ITV1, 2 together.  Makes sense to me anyway!

Thanks for confirming that. I don't mind the idea of the hearts providing the do something Carlton style but 'ITV1 idents will mix live action and 3D visuals using the ITV heart motif' - now where have I seen that before?!?! Smile

And itv.co.uk has a graphic for ITV Digital. When you click it, it just sends you to the ONdigital page - couldn't they even be bothered to stick a splash page up there for a day?!

Are you sure ITV are rebranding tomorrow? It's just that http://www.itv.co.uk/corporate.php3?table=Press%20Releases&title=press says 'later this year'.
