These are the third and fourth idents that have been shown today. They use the music from the generic ident which was seen earlier. It can now be seen that the main feature of these idents is changing from a night scene to a daylight scene. I personally think these two are very good:
As far as ECPs are concerned, I was personally hoping for something more akin to the Hearts Era ECPs.
Yeah. As it is corporate, why didn't they use that background from the "ITV Productions" endboard? Would have looked nicer.
Also has anyone noticed the ECP trails for This Morning are always pre-recorded? Phillip did the promo for the show at the end of Jeremy Kyle but wasn't actually on today.
with regard to this morning promos, they have always been prerecorded, i noticed that when richard and judy were doing it as their clothes in the promos would be what they were wearing on the previous days show.
have all the itv local news studios got a live view window behind the presenters now, granada local news has done that on and off for years.
like the new itv news room, the presenter get to sit down this time.
OK - on the whole an improvement to ITV - but ITV1 is dire!
ITV3 is certainly the best of the bunch - the idents are stylish and appropriate, while the general graphics package is brilliant, especially the promos.
Though I'm not keen on the colour, ITV2's new package is on the whole a massive improvement and gives the channel a striking identity. My only criticism is white text on a bright lime green background isn't as clear as it could be!
ITV News - I'll discuss this further in the newsroom but on the whole it's a thumbs up from me. I think on the regional news though they should have the right bar on the logos too.
Granada News used their full titles at 10.55 - nice theme with a bit of a change in the middle which may take some getting used too! Difficult to describe, but they kind of spin around at the beginning to create a screen made up of the lines, with images then playing on that before it spins again to get the end logo.
The ITV Productions design animates nicely - but I feel the logo is too big.
However,
ITV1 is awful
. The idents are even worse than the one's C5 first used when they became "Five" - and nearly as bad as the BBC 1 dancers.
They just bore me to death and don't give the channel a strong identity. The general package isn't too much better either, while the new general credit background is one of the worst designs I've ever seen for credits on any programme. How much did they pay for that?

I have to agree with you there on ITV2 and ITV3 - a vast improvement and a radical identity for both.
ITV1 is a bit of an odd one. I don't see how it all ties in together!
Blue ECP with black and gold end credit coming next thingy. Yellow ITV1 ident logo, White ITV production slate and the news has gone teal!
There doesn't seem to be much consistency with the colour scheme on ITV1.
I want to see more of the ITV1 idents before I pass comment - but they are totally inoffensive and don't really invoke any feeling or comment from me so far.
The one part of the presentation that has improved on ITV1 is when the advert break has just finished and there is the 2 second bumper. Luckily when this forms up the ITV1 logo is in the exact position where the same logo starts on the ITV1 ident. Therefore this part of the presentation flows between items really well! It's almost as if the bumper is acting as an ident before the proper ident. A bit like the BBC do on BBC1 around Christmas time with short bumpers before promotions!
