It won't be lasting, eventually it'll just be a Granada production. It's just being phased in slowly so programmes that have already been made will not have to be re-edited, any new ones will just be "Granada Productions" only.

Will it not change to ITV Productions?

No it will always be a Granada Production if it has been made for sky, five, BBC or whoever. However it will be ITV Productions if it was shown on ITV first then sold on.

I think its a massive shame the best idents have been made for ITV2 and ITV3, where they are less likely to be seen. What were they thinking with ITV1? Surely the most effort should have been done for those?

I have two problems with the ITV1 idents.

Firstly, there is no distinct musical logo - or not one I've figured out yet, anyway. The closest you get is the music on that next animation thing and one of the idents, which is a really nice, strong musical image. The rest of em seem to be extremely wishy washy.

Secondly, the pictures in the idents look as though they come from an American stock video library of some kind. I know they don't, but I get the feeling they've cobbled together random stock pictures for a demo or "pilot".

SMG should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe they'll wait a few weeks to see how people down south like them.

It's possible I suppose. After all, Scotland's "celeb" idents launched after those in England and Wales IIRC.

Thank goodness ITV Day has gone, I always hated those awful orange and yellow idents.

Im not overly keen on what ive seen of the new idents on ITV1, the trailers, break bumpers look good though. The new ITV productions endcap looks fab as well.

I really like the new look ITV News titles and studio, and the regional news studio doesnt here in Wales doesnt look too different really just new titles which I think are an improvements.

So overall the changes to the news are great, but the ITV1 idents arent that good.

And just to annoy everyone up here in the Scottish region, the first ident they played at 9.25am when the fresh new look launched down south was... the Bryan Burnett one (from Scottish Passport which stopped a couple of years back).
