ITV National Weather had a few problems tonight.

Where the audio fizzled until it totally disappeared. We saw Chrissy Reidy continue without any sound until the weather began again all the way from the start!

Then half way through a graphic appeared to confirm that there were a sound problem!

Chrissy was then cut off in her prime for the Powergen sponsorship!

Oh, I assumed it was just STV that put out that graphic on account of its terrible grammar.
" Were sorry for the temporary loss of apostrophes "
STV also went to the trouble of having the CA remind us a fabulous *twice* that they were doing all they could to sort out the problem.
Good times...

There was also a caption saying "Programme continues in vision only" that appeared first, then the second one appeared and the word 'sound' was temporarly covered up before they removed the first caption.

If they hadn't restarted it over again it wouldn't have been that bad

Well that last junction was definately STV's blunder.

Anno talks us into the Jack McConnell documentary.... music continues to play.... anno panics and says, "Well once again this evening we've got a problem..." before the programme started and cut him off!

Good times indeed. Laughing

ITV should be ashamed of itself - less than 1 week after The Great British Spelling Test reminded us on how to use apostrophes, it goes and puts up a caption like that!

Abysmal! Rolling Eyes

I didn't see that here Andrew - maybe that was inserted on another ITV1 region!

Looks like it was the old GMG North Transmission Centre still doing their own thing. At least we know there's still somebody there!

Surely this generic breakdown graphic would look so much better than what was currently used?

It would appear in a similar fashion to the annoying things like this at the end of programmes on a Saturday night on ITV1!

It must have certainately been YTV who added the Invision only caption, as we got on Granada. I thought it was my Digibox playing up first, but then the caption came on from YTV, then the LNN one appeared. But at least there's still someone at YTV sitting on their a*se hovering over a button. Laughing

Though I watched the last couple of minutes of North West Tonight and they lost sound, then I switched over to ITV after NWT ended they had no sound either, it was a conicidence, thought NTL was on the blink or something.

Why the Hell did the duty announcer not leap in and do a rundown of the evening programmes? Maybe a muinute and a half is too much for some people to fill.

Chrissy was then cut off in her prime for the Powergen sponsorship!

Yes - it would have made much more sense to have junked the weather forecast in favour of somehting else.
