So could you explain why this isnt a great decision?
It seems that the BBC tried extremely hard to get the rights to show The USA Office but failed - and so ITV have now got them! Would it have been a bad decision for BBC to show The USA Office instead?
Also people complain that ITV2 is full of repeats - well this isnt! I am looking forward to watching it - regardless of which channel has it! Should be interesting on many levels!

Perhaps you should try taking off the rose-tints and have a look at the ITV schedules of the 70's and 80's.... lots of US imports in prime-time. Not tucked away on digital off-shoot channels, but on mainstream ITV

I oppose that point. The UK has made better programmes over the years like Doctor Who obviously that have battled the US market in terms of ratings and are exported around the world because of their sheer brilliance. What you're saying there doesn't make sense as it's bad grammar and if an award winning programme appears on BBC Four would you say it's inferior to the US?
Channel 4 don't produce shows, they commission them. But I do remember the days when ITV companies regularly contribute to C4 and currently one of my favourite American programmes on the channel is Lost.
