It was a Current Affairs programme that was a film focused on one subject with inserts at the beginning and end, alá Tonight, it was made by Yorkshire Television. I think Network First replaced it after it ended in 1993...

Who the heck was tonight's announcer on ITV1? Someone please tell her that in this country, the word is pronounced SHEDULE not SKEDULE.

There may well be some genuine Cold Blood if ITV don't get rid of this intrusion soon. If they must have it, lose the black background - that would make all the difference. And why the animation - what does that do other than say "look what our DVE toy can do"?

Well there were none of those captions advertising what was coming up next on Sunday or either of Monday's 2 episodes of Corrie.

Maybe the e-mails certain forum members sent over the weekend did the trick

A new trail advertising summer on ITV1 was shown during the 9pm junction.

Displaying the major programmes airing on ITV1 over the summer, one of the main programmes featured is Tycoon, which seems odd considering it has been a ratings disaster for them.

Much better design than ITV1's slug, but of course it's a slug.

I hate Slugs, there runin the programme

I'm just saying people complain over simple designs, when in the US they're move creative but at the same time it's still a slug.

The problem with using slugs is the announcer/ ECP often advertises the same programme the slug was advertising seconds later over the end credits, making slugs a pointless intrusion.

The difference is UK broadcasters use them seconds before the closing credits, while in the US and Australia they are usually used at the beginning of each part - and often as part of a graphic which acts as a "Welcome back" thing...


So like above, NBC crash from the commercials straight into the action with the "Now: Days of our Lives" and then switch it to promoting another show.
