Just seen something similar to the following flash up at the end of an ad break during F1 Highlights. This should be long gone. Confused

Never thought I'd say this... I miss that logo. Sad

I don't miss it at all, it looks outdated and cheap already.

The best Idents ITV1 have made since 2002 has to be the Generic Snowflake Christmas 2003 Ident. Followed closely by the ITV50 idents.

Yes, the whole presentation for ITV50 was superb. Such a shame we only had it briefly.

I still wonder why they had to split up the ITV logo, BBC style, but it was still an overall superior presentation style then at present.

They featured a big, recognisable symbol, OK not as recognisable as C4's '4' or BBC2's 'big 2' but it was still a pretty good logo, which could have been devoloped further but never really managed to (just stuck in the same few environments for all of its life).

Compare it to what we have now, meaningless yellow things with an annoying backing tune.

Was this at the end of the last break in the show? Here in Meridian South we got the normal ITV1 break bumper followed by the Honda sponsorship and then the VT clock.

That brings back memories. I actually prefer that logo to the current one despite me hating it when it was on air.

That's a major inbuilt problem about most things on this forum. Never actually liking anything until it has gone

Personally I liked that set, I also liked the celebrity idents too, at least they meant something. Most people hated them because they will still getting over the loss of the regions

It wasnt because of the loss of the regions - the celeb idents were rubbish. I liked the ones shown between November 2004 - 15th January 2006. Not sure what they are called but I liked them.

That wasn't the issue, it was the tackyness to them, I've seen better celeb idents that were done profesionally.

ITV running SEVEN minutes late tonight, I had to suffer the end of Britain's Got Talent waiting for Talk To Me to come on

I'm too young to have ever fully appreciated the regional idents so I don't fall into that bracket. I just thought they were incredibly tacky. Certainly the celebrity idents weren't great at all - although the first batch worked a lot better than the second. I think the presentation from November 2004 was the best that that logo had to offer, after the ITV50 set.

I agree with whoever said it was a 'recognisable' logo. It may not have had many fans but the last thing you could call it was 'bland' - which is what I would call the current set.

ITV weathergirl Becky Mantin was in hospital last night having brain scans after a horrific surfing accident.

The 25-year-old had cracked her head open on a surfboard.

Becky was treated in hospital but then collapsed, unable to move, a week later. She was rushed to hospital for brain scans.

The telly beauty had collided with another surfer and was hit on the back of the head with a board on June 7.

She was pulled out of the water by a pal and initially rushed to hospital with concussion and slight memory loss.

Becky, who presents national weather reports, went home but collapsed while staying with parents Wendy and Richard in Norwich.

A source said: “Becky was suffering from terrible 12-hour migraines after the accident in Cornwall. It was a nasty whack and she was signed off for a few weeks.

“Then last Wednesday night she woke up and half her body was frozen. She could not open her eyes properly. She was taken to Norfolk and Norwich hospital and given brain scans.” Becky was due to undergo an MRI scan too.

The source added: “Becky’s condition is not surprising considering the force of the knock.”

Becky first found fame on Anglia News. She lives with sports journalist Dan O’Hagan.

An ITV spokesman said last night: “We expect Becky back in a few weeks when she has been given the all clear.”

Poor Becky. Hope she's OK.
